People on the left are always asking me how I get people not on the left to talk to me and I always think it’s such an odd question, because the assumption is that there must be some magic trick involved. The trick is I don’t lie about my intentions or my thinking, which I consider basic respect I’d pay to anybody in any context, and in return people tend to offer me the basic respect of talking to me like a human being.
