Author's bio:*Required Rebecca Bauer-Kahan (born October 28, 1978) is an American attorney and politician who serves in the California State Assembly. A Democrat, she represents the 16th Assembly District, which encompasses Lamorinda and the Tri-Valley region of the San Francisco Bay Area.Bauer-Kahan was first elected to the State Assembly in November 2018 after narrowly defeating the previous incumbent, moderate Republican Catharine Baker. She currently serves as the Assistant Speaker Pro Tempore of the Assembly and founded and chairs the Select Committee on Women's Reproductive Health.
