Burn Up!

Burn Up!

Scramble continues the popular franchise that the OVA Burn Up began in 1991. Lts. Rio Kinezono and Maya Jingu of the Tokyo Police Warrior Team are joined by psychic Lilica Evett as they take on robbers, motorcycle gangs, and eco-terrorists. Captain Yuji Naruo pursues Rio, and he's delighted when she rewards his attentions with karate kicks. Rio and Maya break as many laws as they enforce: they shoot people, blow up buildings, and dispense their own brand of vigilante justice. But crime and punishment take a back seat to jiggle shots, panty shots, cleavage shots, and flashes of partial nudity. There's no jiggle meter in Scramble, as there was in Burn Up Excess, but the silliness, slapstick comedy, and sexism are the same--which is exactly what fans of the series want and expect. (Rated 16 and older: violence, nudity, risqué humor, alcohol use) --Charles Solomon
