John Cord:
Nobody in his right mind could ask John Cord to move a herd now.

Ralph Hamilton:
Nobody but John Cord could move a herd this size - five thousand head full of ringers.

John Cord:
I'm lookin' at this room. It doesn't make me think you're desperate... doesn't make me think movin' five thousand head of cattle is life or death.

Ralph Hamilton:
Rooms don't change much but bank accounts do.

John Cord:
You know, I ws thinkin' about havin' a drink. Either of you interested?

George Washington Jeffrey:
Interested? Noooo.

Tom Jefferson Jeffrey:
The only thing he's interested in is when you're goin' to ask us.

Garth:
Lots of trials we rode together, Cord. Lots of things I learned from you.

John Cord:
You can forget 'em.

Garth:
Some things a man doesn't forget, like John Cord's rule for a herd-drinking special - always carry your own keg of whiskey. Let the men break it open in camp to let off some steam. Keeps them from werecking an innocent town.

John Cord:
I don't seem to remember that at the trial.

Garth:
Nothing to it, Cord. Betwen us we could build the biggest cattle empire this country has ever seen.

John Cord:
I'm not interested in cattle empires, but for the Fort Clemson drive, you got yourself a trail boss.

Ralph Hamilton:
We've got a trail boss who can feed the herd on burned tumbleweed, water it on dried mud and get us there with more cattle than we had to start with!

Garth:
Got your rump in two saddles at once, huh? Aren't you spreadin' your influence a little too far?

John Cord:
Keep your herd pointed due East. You should hit Horse Thief Creek in about ten days.

Garth:
Where are you taking them?

John Cord:
Northeast.

Garth:
The Dismal River... it's bone dry, isn't it?

John Cord:
No. They'll be able to smell it. It's too thin to plow and too thick to drink.

Garth:
Those cows will go berzerk.

Tom Jefferson Jeffrey:
We'd stick by you till hell froze over and you could skate on it.

John Cord:
Seems like you're always with the cattle.

Sandy Jeffrey:
Seems like they're better than most people to be with.
