Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two

Yen Sid:
[opening monologue; recounting first game's events] Not long ago, a rather brave but mischievous mouse discovered a world I had created for forgotten Toons. The mouse faced many challenges and choices, but in the end he saved Wasteland from total destruction with the help of a new friend - Oswald the Lucky Rabbit. With Oswald by his side, good triumphed over evil and a family was reunited.

[shifts back to the restored Wasteland]

Yen Sid:
That was only the beginning. As the forgotten Toons rebuilt their home, trouble lurked just around the corner.

Pete:
[as Big Bad Pete, seeing Mickey & Oswald in jail] Wha? How'd you get in here, you slippery mouse? Well, get yourself back out again.

Pete:
[as Petetronic] You got your reward already, so scram!

Pete:
[as Pete Pan] Get lost before I make ya lost.

Pete:
[as Pete Pan] Beat it, small fry.

[in Ostown, Mickey, Oswald and Gus hear Goofy flying through the air and crashing into the ground]

Oswald the Lucky Rabbit:
Goofy, what happened?

Goofy:
Well, I was tryin' to fix these pumps, just like Prescott told me. Don't know what I did, though, 'cause they all went kablooy!

Gremlin Prescott:
[defensively] I told him to overcharge ONE pump, not three! Yes, it makes the pumps slightly unstable, but it also gets the job done faster.

Goofy:
Gawrsh, they looked more than slightly dangerous to me. I just think I'll just go ahead and use the pumps how Jamface told me.

Pete:
[as Pete Pan] Am-scray, shrimp.

Oswald the Lucky Rabbit:
Doc, y-your animatronic parts...

Mickey Mouse:
...they're breaking down! What happened?

The Mad Doctor:
[singing] It's so sad / So sad to say the least. / I was a Toon in Wasteland / Living in peace.

[coughs]

The Mad Doctor:
But my thirst for power / Nearly got demonic. / To control the blot / I became animatronic. / It feels like the end. / That's a bad place to start. / Look at me! / I'm falling apart. / I need to make a change, and now is not too soon. / All I really want / Is to walk and talk and be a Toon. / I need to right the wrongs / One by one. / Oswald, tell me, Oswald, / Do you think it can be done?

[Oswald nods; stops singing]

The Mad Doctor:
I hope you're right.

[resumes singing]

The Mad Doctor:
'Cause it feels like the end. / That's a bad place to start. / Look at me! / I'm falling apart.

[they all travel through a projector screen back to Mean Street]

Gremlin Jamface:
Oh-ho! Mickey! Oswald! The projectors, they're working again!

The Mad Doctor:
[singing] But there's big news to tell ya. / I can stop the earthquakes now! / Believe me, I can do it! / And soon I'll show you how!

[crowd cheers]

The Mad Doctor:
But first what wouldn't I give? / To walk and talk and be a toon. / To be a toon...

Mickey Mouse:
What's goin' on?

Gremlin Gus:
You're just in the nick of time, Mickey! Wasteland is becoming inert again, and with all the damage done from the quake...

Ortensia:
[interrupting] Not only that... but the Mad Doctor is back!

Mickey Mouse:
He is? Then where's Oswald?

Oswald the Lucky Rabbit:
[coming in] Right here.

Ortensia:
[hugging Oswald] You had me so worried!

Oswald the Lucky Rabbit:
Sorry, I didn't mean to. But I've been talking to the Doc. He came to warn us that we're being attacked by evil creatures. He said they're part Blot, part animatronic... and all bad.

Ortensia:
Hmph. He's up to something. I just know it.

Oswald the Lucky Rabbit:
C'mon, Ortensia. Doesn't everybody deserve a second chance?

Mickey Mouse:
[seeing Mean Street destroyed by the earthquake] Gosh Gus, I didn't think Mean Street would be this... broken.

Gremlin Gus:
Well, it's gotten worse since the main quake. All the aftershocks have caused the thinner to come up, and the buildings to crumble even more!

[the Practical Pig learns that Mickey and Oswald have repaired the phone network]

Practical Pig:
Hot dog! You've repaired the phone network! So now we're all ready to start recording a new record. But as you can see, my brothers have wandered off again. Go figure. They always seem to do that around practice time. Far as I know, Fifer went rock climbing in Disney Gulch, and Fiddler went to serenade the bunny children at Ostown. If you could bring them back, I'd really appreciate it.

[Mickey and Oswald meet the Practical Pig]

Practical Pig:
Hey there, guys! How's it goin'? Well, it's not good here. See, we're in a bit of a pickle. We owe a lot of money to Bad Wolf Publishing. Our last record kinda flopped, and they want their money back. So anyways, I got this plan. It'll take a lot of work, but I think we can get enough cash to put out our own record. And then we'll be rich! Unless, of course, somebody wants to donate the massive amount of E-tickets we need.

[Mickey and Oswald decline]

Practical Pig:
Yeah, I didn't think so. Right, so I got me this plan: if we can make a record and get the word out, we'll sell bazillions! But there's a couple of hitches. First off, my brother's fiddle got broke in the Gulch. Can't make a new record when the music sounds like a sick cat.

[sees that Mickey and Oswald have a fiddle]

Practical Pig:
Well! Look at that fiddle! It's a beauty, ain't it? And what's this say here on the back? "Stradivarius". Huh. Don't know what that means.

[Mickey and Oswald give Practical the fiddle]

Practical Pig:
But anyways, thanks a bunch, pal! Okay, now for step two: we can make a new record, but we need to get the word out. I'd use the Wasteland telephone network, but it went down in the quake. But hey, the telephone in Mickey's house might know how to fix the network. You should go check with her!

Pete:
[as Small Pete] Hey there, pallys! Before ya celebrate too much, you better get a load of this. While I was fixing the Substation... [holds up a set of chattering teeth]... I found these jammed into the projector pipes. They were chewing 'em up pretty good, too.

Oswald the Lucky Rabbit:
A gag from the Gag Factory? What's the big deal?

Pete:
Well, somebody shoved 'em there on purpose. An' that means the projectors was sabotaged.

Oswald the Lucky Rabbit:
[astonished gasp] Sabotage!

[Mickey and Oswald walk down Mean Street, Oswald scowling at everyone he sees; they run off when they see him]

Mickey Mouse:
Oswald, what's wrong?

Oswald the Lucky Rabbit:
I'm trying to figure out who sabotaged the projectors. But they're all my friends, and good Toons, too. Oh, this isn't working. I'm no detective. You think I should ask Horace for help?

Pete:
[after the credits are over, as Big Bad Pete] Look at 'em all. So happy. They ain't ever going to know what hit 'em... [laughs evilly as he and the Pete gang head to Ventureland with their prisoner, Gremlin Prescott]

Oswald the Lucky Rabbit:
[as he, Mickey and Gremlin Gus arrive in Blot Alley] You see, when the Blot went kaput, the Spatters flooded Mean Street, and we didn't know where else to put 'em, so we brought 'em here.

Gremlin Jamface:
Mickey, it is good to see you again... Wait! You would not be here if Wasteland is not in peril.

Gremlin Gus:
Actually, we're here to fix the projectors. Do you know what happened to them?

Gremlin Jamface:
Shh. [whispering] Come closer. [Mickey, Oswald and Gus do so] One would think the quake destroyed them, yes? But, the Main Projector Substation in Rainbow Caverns went down before the quake.

Gremlin Gus:
Wait...

Gremlin Jamface:
[cutting him off] It is a strange thing, is it not? I do not know why.

The Mad Doctor:
[singing] Testing, testing. / Dear diary, it's the Mad Doctor, / Wonderfully evil me. / I fooled Prescott into turning on his friends / While he built me my TV. / Now I broadcast my show to the Cartoon World. / Will they forget me? Never! / Oh yes, I'll be remembered, / And I can leave Wasteland forever! / I know the guardians can make me a Toon again, / I played Mickey and Oswald for fools! / But even I couldn't know that the earthquakes would strike / When they sucked up the guardian pools! / And that wasn't even a part of my plan, / A plan that's evil as can be. / It won't be long 'til Wasteland will be destroyed / And very soon I'll be a Toon... / Dear diary, who's the maddest mad doctor of all? / Wonderfully evil me! [laughs evilly]

Oswald the Lucky Rabbit:
The Mad Doc doesn't do anything small, does he?

Mickey Mouse:
No, I guess he doesn't.
