This is what we do, we look for incongruities in a patient's statements because they often lie to us... Are you a pathological liar? Tell me the truth.

The Artist:
No.

The Psychologist:
[BEAT] Are you telling me the truth? Or just being sarcastic?

The Artist:
No.

[laughs]

The Artist:
It's not suicide, it's a commitment.

The Psychologist:
Yeah... A commitment to commit suicide. It sure as f*** wasn't tightrope training for the circus you were doing up here on this ledge with all this birdshit.

The Artist:
...And try your damndest not to be condescending.

The Psychologist:
[Pointing to the side] Heh, heh - look at that fat guy trying to jog! HA HA HA! [BEAT] I'm sorry, did you say something?

The Artist:
I said, "Try your damndest not to be condescending!"

The Psychologist:
So what the hell were you doing on that ledge?

The Artist:
I was going to accidentally slip, or lose my balance... and then I was going to fall off.

The Psychologist:
...That all sounds a bit too premeditated to just be an "accident."

The Psychologist:
See, that's your other problem: you keep acting on whim. That's why you were standing on that ledge, about to "accidentally" commit suicide.

The Artist:
...Was it premeditated, or was it a whim?

The Psychologist:
It's still self-murder... If this was "Minority Report," Tom Cruise would've jumped off your couch and busted your ass so you couldn't jump off any ledge.

The Psychologist:
Fact is not a relative measure. Fact is Fact. Truth can be a relative measure, but fact is fact.

The Artist:
Fact is based on a system of relative measures. So fact is based in fiction.

The Psychologist:
No, it's not.

The Artist:
Yeah. It is.

The Psychologist:

[Shoots a finger up to shush]

The Psychologist:
I like to come up on the roof... Do some bird-watching... Some stargazing...

The Artist:
Stargazing?... You know it's the middle of the afternoon?

The Psychologist:
You know, it's "the early bird, that gets the worm"?

The Psychologist:
Let me ask YOU something, now: Are you high?

The Artist:
High?... Latitudinally-speaking?

The Psychologist:
Or pharmaceutically. Narcotically. "Medicinally" - whatever.

The Psychologist:
...I don't have a home of my own, and...

The Artist:
You don't look homeless.

The Psychologist:
Oh, well, I have a HOUSE to stay in - I'm not THAT kind of "bum."

Let's face it: once you go SPLAT on that sidewalk, that's public defacement of public property.

The Artist:

The Psychologist:
I don't see your name written on any part of that sidewalk. And if painting part of the sidewalk with your guts is your way of signing that sidewalk - that's still vandalism.

The Psychologist:
[Rambling off a list of symptoms observed in The Artist so far] - Overtly suicidal, looting a f***ing...

The Artist:

The Artist:

The Psychologist:

But I know this isn't meat, though. And that's a good thing.

The Artist:
The moment you hear the truth, you believe it's a lie. And then when you hear a lie, you want it to be the truth. Which means...

The Psychologist:
Because you twist it around so much.

The Artist:
