Narrator:
Alert at all times to enforce the laws of our maritime code, the Harbor Command is trained to combat every type of criminal. It is an organization designed to protect our harbors. These are the stories of the men who have dedicated their lives to that end.

Opening title card:

[Chaney's time bomb explodes harmlessly in the middle of the harbor]

Capt. Ralph Baxter, USCG:
Hey, Jim - get on the radio and call off the search. Thank all the units. Tell the demolition crew we won't need 'em... in case they haven't heard.

[Captain Baxter and his men have rescued Pop from his sinking fishing boat]

Pop Cates:
Hey, why did you come along, Captain? Couldn't you leave a man be? Man's gotta right to die if he wants to.

Capt. Ralph Baxter, USCG:
You haven't got the right. That's not for you and me to decide. You know, part of my job is saving lives, including ornery ones like yours.

Betty Lacentra:
Look, I didn't know about the murders. I'd never have had anything to do with it if I'd known Chavelle was going to kill anyone!

Capt. Ralph Baxter, USCG:
Come on.

Betty Lacentra:
Please, you've got to believe that!

Capt. Ralph Baxter, USCG:
Don't convince me - convince the jury.

Capt. Ralph Baxter, USCG:
By the looks of that wound, you'll live.

Jess Perrin:
You call San Quentin livin'?

Capt. Ralph Baxter, USCG:
Well, it may not be the Riviera, but it's gonna be your home for thirty four years.

Capt. Ralph Baxter, USCG:
Have you notified the watchman's family?

Sgt. Jim Warren:
He didn't have a family. I knew him - his job was all he had in life.

Capt. Ralph Baxter, USCG:
Caused his death, too.

[a scuba diver sinks beneath the surface after being shot by Harbor Command's officers]

Sgt. Jim Warren:
You know, he might have made it if he'd been satisfied with half the gold, but instead he had to go down twice.

Capt. Ralph Baxter, USCG:
He's gone down for the third time.

[Harbor Patrol has just thwarted an assassination attempt made by a man and woman team of killers who had a gun concealed inside a bouquet]

Newspaper Reporter Al:
Captain, if he's the killer, why didn't you pick him up? He was standing about 20 feet away for about half an hour.

Capt. Ralph Baxter, USCG:
We thought there was a killer on the pier, but we didn't know who he was.

Newspaper Reporter Al:
Well, how did you spot him?

Capt. Ralph Baxter, USCG:
For a guy who was so much in love, he never did give her the flowers.

[Baxter and his men manage to find the explosive material Pete hid on the fishing boat before it exploded]

Capt. Ralph Baxter, USCG:
You know, Pete, the difference between petty theft and murder was about three minutes.
