Holly Hobbie:

I can't believe how boring this summer is.

Aunt Jessie:
So, what are you girls up to today?

Holly Hobbie:
Absolutely nothing. We're totally and completely bored.

Carrie Baker:
There's nothing to do around here.

Amy Morris:
We're even bored of trying to come up with ideas that would end our boredom.

Aunt Jessie:
Hmm, I don't think I've ever been bored in my entire life. I'm not sure I even believe in the word.

Holly Hobbie:
Really, Aunt Jessie?

Aunt Jessie:
Life is too interesting to be boring.

Carrie Baker:
A crow lives there.

Amy Morris:
Yeah, Mrs. Crow, and she never comes out.

Holly Hobbie:
Maybe she just likes to be left alone. [walks toward house]

Carrie Baker:
Holly, what are you doing?

Holly Hobbie:
I just want to read this.

Amy Morris:
She's like all those girls in horror movies who just can't turn and run away. They always have to stick around. And you know what happens to them.

Willie Scranton:
I may be deaf as a post, but that noise just about punctured my eardrums.

Robby Hobbie:
it's not noise, Mr. Scranton. It's a world record in the making.

Willie Scranton:
I don't care if it's a *gold* record in the making. Put that thing out of its misery, before I lodge a formal complaint.

Robby Hobbie:
[putting away his accordion sadly] Okay.

Willie Scranton:
That's more like it! [muttering] Darn kids with their rock and roll music, and turn up the amplifiers, and I don't know what all...

Annabelle Crow:
My dear, if you're going to keep apologizing, I insist on offering you a cup of tea. And I should at least know your name.

Holly Hobbie:
Oh, sorry. I mean, I'm Holly. Holly Hobbie.

Annabelle Crow:
Of course. I can't believe it. You look just like her.

Holly Hobbie:
Like who?

Annabelle Crow:
I should have known. Your great-grandma Holly and I would have the best times.

Annabelle Crow:
Thank you for bringing the letters, Minnie.

Minnie:
Well, save your thanks till after you open the one from the government. That one can only be bad news.

Holly Hobbie:
Bad news? [back at home, talking with her family] So Annabelle has to move out of her house. They're gonna tear it down! The letter said the government was gonna put a railroad track right through her property. Can they do that?

Aunt Jessie:
I'm afraid so, sweetie.

Holly Hobbie:
[staring at photo of her great-grandmother] I'll find a way to help your old friend, Great-Grandma. Promise.

Amy Morris:
Muffin?

Mayor Whitman:
Uh, I've had three already.

Amy Morris:
Have four. They're light.

Carrie Baker:
Amy, I've heard of "buttering somebody up," but don't go overboard.

Robby Hobbie:
You know, Willie -

Willie Scranton:
That's Mr. Scranton to you. Mind your manners.

Robby Hobbie:
Uh, sorry. I was just thinking, I bet if you wre about 90 years younger, you, me, and Kyle would be best friends.

Willie Scranton:
Is that so?

Kyle Morris:
Totally.

Robby Hobbie:
Yeah, you're the first grownup we've ever met who likes the same things we like.

Willie Scranton:
Well, I - I must admit, I had the wrong impression of you pipsqueaks. Had no idea you were such enthusiasts for the strange.

Aunt Jessie:
Thank you so much, Annabelle. And thank you, Aunt Jessie.

Holly Hobbie:
For what?

Aunt Jessie:
I never would have met Annabelle, or done any of this, if you hadn't told me to look at the world with new eyes. You're the best aunt ever.
