Miracle Mile

Miracle Mile

The Miracle Mile with Leslie Sansone targets those looking for a basic low-impact fitness plan. This 20-minute program incorporates 15 minutes of walking and five minutes of toning exercises that will help any beginner get started on the right track. Instructor Leslie Sansone is well informed and encouraging as the fundamentals of this in-home walking program are explained. Sansone jazzes up standard walking by incorporating wide strides, front kicks, and side steps. The choreography is simple and repeats enough times that even the most rhythmically challenged participant will catch on after a few tries. The inner and outer thighs get some work here with adduction and abduction exercises, while the upper body becomes central to attaining a full range of motion. Periodically throughout the session the Fit O' Meter (a bar at the bottom of the screen that keeps track of the time, distance, and pace of your walk) reminds participants how far they have come. Sansone closes the Miracle Mile with lunges, pushups, and sit-ups and offers great cuing on alignment and muscle control. This program is safe, approachable, and just what you are looking for if you just can't seem to get started. --Olivia Voigts
