Felicity King:
[Felicity sees Sara and Felix] Hello, Sara. How was school?

Felix King:
Don't rub it in just because you don't go anymore.

Janet King:
Felicity, I just cleaned that stove yesterday.

Felicity King:
Some of us have higher standards of cleanliness, Mother.

Felicity King:
I feel like one of those little white mice they keep in the labs at school, running around in mazes all day thinking they're going someplace when really it's just a test to see how smart they are.

Sara Stanley:

Felicity King:
[on being told Felix will inherit the farm] Now that's a frightening thought!

Janet King:
Oh, Felicity, now you made him feel bad.

Felicity King:
You'd actually trust the farm to Felix? He'll eat more than he can produce!

Alec King:

Clemmie, sparkle? It would take the entire Milky Way to make her shine!

I can't stand the thought of everyone disliking me!

Does that mean that the wrong person could be the right person, but, but you've met him at the wrong time? Or is the wrong person always the wrong person even if you meet him at the right time? Hetty King:

Arthur Pettibone:

Gus Pike:

Felicity King:
[to David] Oh, that cricket match! Oh, cricket is simply ripping! Watching it is my most favourite pastime. I wouldn't miss it for anything.

Felicity King:

Felix King:
Who are you, the kitchen constable?

Felix King:
[Felicity cuts a piece of cake] Hey!

Felicity King:
Hay is for horses.

Felix King:
But that's my birthday cake.

Felicity King:
That was yesterday. After one day, all rights to the cake revert to the baker. That's the law.

Felix King:
Who's law?

Felicity King:
The kitchen constable's law.

Rachel Lynde:
This goose liver mush isn't bad.

Pierre Lapierre:

Rachel Lynde:
[pointing her butter knife at him] Try it you little French rat!

Felix King:
[hearing a knock on his parents' door] Oh, no. It's Velma Bugle. Tell her I'm not home. Tell her I left town. [his parents exchange glances] Never mind. I'll tell her myself!

Velma Bugle:
Yoo-hoo, Felix! Wanna share a soda?

Felix King:
No. I hate sodas.

Kid:
Hey Izzy, how would you like to share a soda?

Izzy Pettibone:
How would you like to stand on your head and spit nickles?

Simon Tremayne:
Bachelorhood is a state of mind.

Davey Keith:
Does that mean if you're born a bachelor, you die a bachelor?

Simon Tremayne:

Rachel Lynde:

Rachel Lynde:
What? I wasn't bidding on him.

Pierre Lapierre:

Janet King:

Aunt Hetty:

Felicity King:
Gus Pike, you're recovering from surgery! You're supposed to be resting.

Hetty King:
...So I'll ask you now to raise your glasses and join me in a toast to the bride and the groom... Felicity King:
I'm right here, Gus. I always will be. You're my whole life. You always have been. Ever since the first moment I saw you, there's never been anyone else. Remember? You came running into the classroom, barefoot, smoking that awful pipe. I fell in love with that boy. And when this is all over, whether you can see or not, I will marry you as I should have when you first proposed to me.

Gus Pike:
If that's a proposal, I accept.

Gus Pike:
I almost would rather not be in love if it means I have to give up my good name. I don't know which I'd choose, being able to share my heart with someone, or being able to hold my head up high to my neighbours...

Felix King:

Felicity King:

Felix King:

Felicity King:
Felix, close your mouth and listen! Mother and Father are going off to the White Sands tomorrow night and I'm babysitting.

Felix King:

Alec King:

Janet King:

Sara Stanley:

Nanny Louisa:

Alexander Abraham:

Sara Stanley:
[while chosing fabric for school clothes with her Aunt Olivia, to Rachel Lynde] You should try red Mrs. Lynde, I'm sure you will feel much more clever.

Rachel Lynde:
You wouldn't catch me in red; red shouldn't appear on anything but the devil.

Felix King:
I don't get it.

Felicity King:
Of course you don't. You're a boy. Boys don't get anything.

Gus Pike:
Say you'll marry me, Felicity. Don't let me go without a promise this time. Say you'll be mine.

Felicity King:
I've always been yours, Gus. I'll be yours forever.

Janet King:
Oh yes, my goodness, if we're going to talk about moods let's talk about Felicity.

Olivia Dale:
Oh now, Janet. She's improved

Janet King:
Yes, she has.

Felicity King:
My future is completely black. I'm doomed! Absolutely none of my clothes are right. I might as well just have "Farm Girl" stitched in large letters across my back.

Janet King:
Oh, now, Felicity!

Felicity King:
I can't go to teacher's college. I won't! Why on earth did I apply for entry this term? I have nothing at all to wear. Mother, you've got to help me.

Janet King:
Felicity, you're going to school to learn, not to sport the latest fashion.

Felicity King:
Well, how am I supposed to concentrate on learning if I don't look my best?

Janet King:
You have beautiful things. Look at this, hand made. You're stitching's impeccable.

Felicity King:
Hand made. Exactly. It sticks out like a sore thumb. All the other girls will have clothes from catalogues.

Felicity King:
Repeat after me: I am a loathsome, boorish squid!

Sara Stanley:
This ugly little pinafore has a very big hem. It will last you for years. You can go to college in it, you can get married in it, and then you can get buried in it.

Jo Pitts:
You got starin' problems? Well, do ya?

Felix King:
You are like an ocean breeze. Not that you smell like fish or anything!
