Donald Hollinger:
You're eating my Charlton Heston.

Jules Benedict:
I'm too busy with my own neuroses.

Ann Marie:
Mr. Benedict, I'm a little confused about how my character should be played.

Jules Benedict:
[deliberately] Much, much, better.

Donald 'Don' Hollinger:
If you don't really know her, why did she buy you a present?

Ann Marie:
Well, her son's a friend of mine.

Donald 'Don' Hollinger:
Yes, she told me that.

Ann Marie:
Did she also tell you about the time I almost ruined his Christmas?

Donald 'Don' Hollinger:
Why? You tell him there was no Santa Claus?

Ann Marie:
There's no what...?

Donald 'Don' Hollinger:
I just stopped by to take one of Santa's helpers to lunch.

Mom:
Isn't that a coincidence. I just stopped by to give one of Santa's helpers a present. She and my son, Tommy, once spent Christmas together.

Donald 'Don' Hollinger:
Oh. Which one of Santa's helpers is that?

Mom:
Over there - that girl!

Customer:
[to Ann, the salesgirl] Young woman, you don't seem to have your heart in my hair.

[first lines]

Donald Hollinger:
[while eating dinner] You want some more? I'm full.

Ann Marie:
Oh, I couldn't. Well, maybe just a smidge. [She helps herself to a large serving]

Donald Hollinger:
How can a girl look like Audrey Hepburn and eat like Jackie Gleason?

Lou Marie:
He's obviously covering up, because he has contributed to her delinquency.

Ann Marie:
He has not! He hasn't contributed to one single thing!

Donald Hollinger:
I gave at the office.

Mrs. Hollinger:
Men's trousers are never found in young ladies' closets, unless they are invited.

Donald Hollinger:
How do you invited pants to a closet?

Ann Marie:
Simple; "Dear pants, the pleasure of your company is requested in my closet."

Party Guests:
[Ann and her father walk in the door, turn on the lights] Surprise! [Party guests throw confetti & streamers, blow party horns]

Ann Marie:
[Ann is so touched by her surprise party, she's crying. Hugs Donald] Oh, paper hats and everything.

Lou Marie:
Take this honey, you'll shrink his coat. [Hands Ann a handkerchief, she laughs]

Ann Marie:
Thank you Daddy.

Judy Bessemer:
Are you really surprised?

Ann Marie:
Yes, I really am. Oh, Paul thank you! [Hugs Paul and kisses him on the cheek]

Paul:
Mr. Benedict will be here later.

Ann Marie:
Oh, good. Leon! [Hugs Leon] Thank you.

Dr. Leon Bessemer:
Don't thank me, thank Alfred Merguson, he came early. [They laugh] [Leon is an obstetrician, and was delivering a baby at a hospital earlier]

Ann Marie:
Patti! [Hugs Patti] I thought you were going to be away.

Patti:
For you and free food, I came back.

Ann Marie:
Thank you. Judy! [Hugs Judy]

Judy Bessemer:
Ann!

Ann Marie:
How did you keep a secret?

Judy Bessemer:
I didn't plan it 'til after you left. [They laugh]

Ann Marie:
[Hugs another person who just came in] Thank you! Who are you?

Marvin:
I'm Marvin Cronefeld, the cab driver. [to Mr. Marie] Where's my money?

Lou Marie:
Here's five, keep the change.

Judy Bessemer:
Have a salomi sandwich. [Hands him a sandwich]

Patti:
And here's a cornbeef! [Hands him another sandwich]

Dr. Leon Bessemer:
Take two. [Laughter]

Paul:
You'll need something to drink, you've got to have something to drink. [Hands him a bottle of soda]

Marvin:
Just a plain night. Boy, what must go on here on New Year's Eve. [Party guests blow their party horns at him, he leaves]

Donald 'Don' Hollinger:
[Ann is still crying] Hey come on, you're the birthday girl, you should be laughing. [Hugs Ann]

Ann Marie:
I am, this is wet laughing.

Donald Hollinger:
Do you really mean it?

Ann Marie:
No. Dramatic exit lines run in the family.

Ann Marie:
No matter what mood I'm in, I always very carefully pick up my clothes and put them in my closet. That's my natural habitat.

Donald Hollinger:
Habitat? Habitat is where you live.

Ann Marie:
So, where I hang my clothes is where I live.

[Donald joins Ann in a commercial shoot]

Ann Marie:
Twinkie is the drinkie for young people on the move.

Donald Hollinger:
If you dig action, you'll love Twinkie... and you'll be in the groove.

Director:
Do you know the kid playing musical chairs?

Ethel Merman:
I should say so... I'd never forget... That Girl!

[Ann is spotted modeling at an automobile show]

Vittorio Barrini:
Ricci, look at that gold Ferrari and tell me what you see.

Antonio Ricci:
I see a beautifully constructed work of art, and a gold Ferrari.

Vittorio Barrini:
What have you appeared in? Tell me your credits.

Ann Marie:
Well, last season I appeared in a play with Ethel Merman, for a whole weekend.

Vittorio Barrini:
Oh, and how did you do?

Ann Marie:
Well, the director said...

Vittorio Barrini:
No, no, no. How do *you* think you did. Were you good?

Ann Marie:
[chuckles] I loved me.

Vittorio Barrini:
Is your decision based at all by your fear that you would not look good without your clothes on?

Ann Marie:
You have got to be kidding.

Donald Hollinger:
[to Ann] I hate to be the one to tell you this, but you really don't have to pretend to be an unknown. You are an unknown, agent and all. If I didn't know you, I wouldn't know you.
