[Seeing the assistant's pen-lighter] That's ingenious. May I?

Assistant:
Of course.

Sidney Stratton:
[Flicking the lighter on] I wonder, can you tell me what is the ratio of ink to petrol?

Assistant:
I don't know.

Daphne Birnley, Alan Birnley's daughter:
Thank you Sidney. If you would've said "yes" I could've strangled you!

Sidney Stratton:
It shouldn't have done that.

Sir John Kierlaw:
Now. Some fool has invented an indestructible cloth. Where is he? How much does he want?

Mrs. Watson, Sidney's landlady:
Why can't you scientists leave things alone? What about my bit of washing when there's no washing to do?

Bertha, Birnley Mill worker:

[Daphne laughs at Sidney's suit]

Sidney Stratton:
What's funny about it?

Daphne Birnley, Alan Birnley's daughter:
It's just the suit. It looks as if it's wearing you.

Sidney Stratton:
It's still a bit luminous but it'll wear off.

Daphne Birnley, Alan Birnley's daughter:
Oh, no!

Sidney Stratton:

Sidney Stratton:

Sidney Stratton:

I shan't actually get paid for it.
