Thumbelina:
[Three ferocious wolves have ran away frightened] Are you all right, Big Bear?

Big Bear:
I am now.

Thumbelina:
Those wolves sure turned tail and ran, didn't they? Maybe I'm stronger than I think.

Big Bear:
I don't know about being strong, but you sure are brave.

Billy Bear:
[Two bears appear] I'll say she is. I wouldn't've been brave enough to stand up to three wolves with just a twig.

Big Bear:
Thumbelina, meet my brothers. Billy Bear and Bertin Bear.

Thumbelina:
[Disappointed] The wolves were running from them?

Big Bear:
So what? What you did took courage. No one could have a better friend than you.

Thumbelina:
You really think so?

Thumbelina:
Strange. Every time I fall asleep, I wake up in a different place.

Mr. Mole:
Hello Mona, Thumbelina. Humph! I've been visiting so often I thought It would be easier just to dig a tunnel between my house and yours.

Mona:
[to Thumbelina] See? I told you he's crazy about you.

Fox:
[Thumbelina is helped onto her feet by a fox] Well, look'a what we got here. You must be the farmer's wife.

Thumbelina:
Thanks for helping me up, but why on earth would you think I'm the farmer's wife?

Fox:
Because the farmer who owns this here farm had such a small harvest, I figured you went and shrunk up from lack of food. [laughs hysterically]

Thumbelina:
Well I'm not the farmer's wife. And I don't think that's a very funny joke.

Fox:
Hey, what do you want, kid, I'm out here starving.

Thumbelina:
You're not going to eat me for dinner, are you?

Fox:
Well, I wouldn't exactly call you a dinner. I'd call a chicken a dinner. I'd call a rabbit a dinner, but you barely qualify for the morsel category, so I wouldn't worry too much.

Frog:
Well... Look who's awake.

Thumbelina:
Oh, don't hurt me. I'm a very small girl.

Frog:
Every mother wants to find the perfect girl for her son to marry. Hahaha, lucky me, I found you, ribbet. [to her son] Hush up.

Thumbelina:
Look, I'm sure you're nice and, I'm sure your son's nice. For a frog. But there's a whole kingdom of Little People depending on me, so, if you'll just help me be on my way...

Frog:
Start thinking wedding bells, honey. You're going to be walking down the aisle. [the frog and her son swim away]

Thumbelina:
[to herself] Oh, this is terrible. How will I ever get to the meadow?

Thumbelina:
Oh, you saved me! How can I ever thank you?

Blue Fish:
You don't happen to have any worms, do ya?

Thumbelina:
No, but...

Blue Fish:
Are you sure she's not a bug?

Red Fish:
Nah, let's bail!

Mr. Mole:
Mm! I just love the smell of dirt in the morning.

Thumbelina:
It's so dark in here I can barely see.

Mr. Mole:
Ooh, you'll get used to it, my dear. You'll come to love the dark as I do. You find all sorts of interesting things in the ground, for instance, look at this.

Thumbelina:
[there's a swallow lying dead on the ground; Thumbelina gasps] Oh!

Mona:
Now how- however did a bird get down here?

Mr. Mole:
Birds are not the smartest of creatures, you know.

Thumbelina:
[runs to the swallow's side] Oh, poor thing. He looks like the swallow who sang to me once long ago.

Mr. Mole:
You can bet he won't be singing anymore! [both Mr. Mole and Mona laugh]

Thumbelina:
Please don't make fun of him. This could be the bird who sang to me. He was a sweet bird...

Mona:
Augh, don't be a silly girl. All swallows look alike, you can't tell one from the other.

Mr. Mole:
Unlike moles, which are quite distinctive.

Mona:
Mm-hmm, especially one so noble looking as yourself. We have to get back home.

Witch:
[a child-less woman opens her front door and sees a witch standing there] Well, are you gonna invite me in or stare at me all night?

Child-less woman:

Witch:

Child-less woman:

Witch:
[pulls out a red tulip] Here we are.

Child-less woman:
That's no child, that's a tulip.

Witch:
Yes, but it's no ordinary tulip. Plant it in a flower pot and you shall soon have your child.

Child-less woman:
If this doesn't bring me a child, I'll- I'm gonna find you and get my money back!

Witch:
Fine, I never had to give a refund yet.

Father:
You made it! But how on earth?

Thumbelina:
With some help from my friend! [Thumbelina turns to the swallow, who winks at her]

Mona:
What can be taking that old crook so long? If he dares to try backing out of our deal I'll...

Mr. Mole:
Hello, Mona. Beautiful day for a wedding, isn't it?

Mona:
And even a more beautiful day to pay the one who introduced you to your blushing bride.

Thumbelina:
No one should be buried without something to keep them warm. Mona and Mr. Mole won't do it, so I will!
