[discussing possible newspaper headlines after Claire has run out of church on her wedding day]

So why d'you run away? Why waste all those vol-au-vents?

Claire Holmes:
Cos it's not like I have to wear the dress to complete the set. I don't want to read about myself in the local paper: "Brave Cancer Bride Weds".

Elaine Spader:
Or "Cancer Bride Flees Wedding".

Claire Holmes:
Sh*t! It *is*, isn't it? "Wedding Proves 'Tomb' Much For Brave Claire"!

Elaine Spader:
"Send Back The Cake - The Wedding's 'Cancered'"!

[they chuckle]

Elaine Spader:
You know, in my head, some nights you were like this demon standing over me with these red eyes.

Claire Holmes:
And wings? Like the Meatloaf album.

Elaine Spader:
You have wings if you want. So what are you gonna do?

Claire Holmes:
Die, I suppose. Not so scary now, am I?

Elaine Spader:

[Talking about Claire, who is dying at Andy and Elaine's house]

Paul:
I would have looked after her.

Andy Spader:
Committed for life - all ten weeks of it? You know what? You haven't answered my question: are you going to the funeral. Because no matter what happens, I'm gonna be there. No matter how horrible it is.
