There is no neutral position; no straddling the fence, no walking both sides of the road. If we do not belong to the Light, then we are of the darkness. What Josh did was to get past the mask -- the pain Professor Radisson felt (and blamed God for), the loss of his mother to cancer (in the face of her profound faith in God, but "God betrayed her"), became a hatred and pursuit of revenge. By projecting his pain and false unbelief hiding under the mask of intellectuality onto others, the Professor sought revenge against God. Josh said, "Who will you really be failing -- me, or God?" Unmasked, the Professor was a believer. Death is no big deal for God; for each person, it is only ...a change of address. 1Cor15 (50-57) comforts us that there is no good bye, only -- farewell for now. We will meet again. Part of the joy on the other side is the company we share. I don't give a rat's left toenail where a person comes from or looks like -- if I get stuck with the likes of anyone (or everyone) reading this, as "forever family", I will delight in your company. You are the treasure I can take with me. If you persecute me, or even kill me, I will never stop loving you. If you choose the darkness (even forever), I will cry for you, and I will miss you. This is what God is in us. God is love, love cannot demand its own way (His only option WAS for us to have free will, nothing else is love), and we make a choice. (1Jn4:16, 1Cor13:5, Deut30:19-20 w/ Rm10:6-10.) Love came softly for us, as one of us, and tabernacled among us. And He still does if we wish. Can we refuse such love? (Jn15:13) Yes; but far wiser attend the party in His company (Matt22 "wedding feast"!). There is joy and fulfillment in nothing and no one else. (Jn15:11) The veil tore for you, He really cherishes your company. What are you going to do?
