Not only is Latin not a "dead" language, it's the official language of Vatican City. All the "romance" languages are derived from Latin - and if you're thinking about becoming a doctor, study Latin & Greek. Virtually all medical terminology is based on those two languages.

Hi, Louise! I'm getting up in age as well (almost 65), did 2 years of college and didn't enjoy a minute of it! I find one of the very best ways to keep my mind working, and double-bonus, have fun doing it - is by watching Jeopardy! every single day (and weekends!). Most every network carries it - I miss Alex Trebek, of course, but Ken Jennings is doing an excellent job as the new Host. Happy Viewing!

...and thank you so much for your gracious acceptance of my apology.

Oh my goodness, I owe you a HUGE apology - and I'm going to put myself to bed tonight without any supper! I feel quite ashamed of myself for not giving any thought to the different reasons people might want to do these quizzes - I didn't realise I could be so pompous, like, if you're not doing it the way I do, then you're wasting your time. (I'm cringing just hearing myself say that - well, type it - you know what I mean!) I am very sorry for them dismissive way I spoke to you, and I would also like to thank you, for sharing your comment with me - I know I've become somewhat jaded & cynical at the 'ways of the world' the older I've gotten (I'm 64), but you've given me a very kind wake-up call... I appreciate your perspective, and humbled by your decency.

Is your name "Achiever"? No? Then I wasn't talking to you - but since you want to weigh in, at least educate yourself. My question to the individual was based on having read approximately 30 of his/her comments, each & everyone exactly the same.

I'm curious - have you ever seen an acronym you didn't love, or have you ever posted anything other than "ILI.= I Love It,"?

Why did you do the quiz if you were just going to guess? Did you go back over the quiz to learn WHY your 'guess' was the correct/incorrect answer? I am so surprised that someone would take a quiz without any interest in actually absorbing any new information, or to become more knowledgeable... but that's just me!

Did you mean 'nonsense'? And if so, what are you referring to, the quote, or what?

Who wrote the info below the author of the quote's name (Homer)? STANDS4/QUOTES.NET, please edit this accordingly, it's an embarrassing mess to your otherwise well-written series of Quotes. Thank you.

I'm more than a little surprised you haven't updated Mr.Nimoy's "alpha & omega" date(s), you've had over FIVE YEARS to do it

Hey there! With all due respect, you might want to check out/add the extension for the STANDS4 Networks "Grammar" site, or Grammarly.com - both are great to help you with spelling words correctly. (it's spelled 'appreciate', not 'appretiate') I'm not sure about the STANDS4 one, but Grammarly will correct your spelling automatically (if what you've typed is in the ballpark, Grammarly seems to have a "sixth sense" about the word you want spelled correctly - it's quite amazing, actually!) As well, if you've typed an 'awkward' sentence or two, even a paragraph, Grammarly will suggest a more concise & clear way of saying what you want to say. Again, danwise, my comment is meant to be helpful, not critical - I hope you take it with the respect intended!

Mother Teresa was 58 years old in 1968, my friend, when your Dr Keith allegedly said this - in my humble opinion, I would suggest that she was in a better place to have made this remark, by age, life experience, religiously & spiritually-wise. I think it's very difficult to give 100% credit to ANYONE for ANY quote that does not have accompanying proof. It is also my humble opinion that the true purpose of a quote is its inference, it's in the MEANING more so than were those exact words said in that exact order by the alleged author. If one gets too caught up counting the trees, one can lose sight of the forest. Thank you for 'listening', Sezzoo - have a brilliant weekend!

...and I'm so old (almost 63) I don't even know what a "Gen Z" IS, lol! I'll Google it in a minute - I'm a proud Baby Boomer, the way the world has changed from microwave ovens (I don't remember how I lived without one for the first 24 years of my life, I had to save up for a while to get one, they were about $750 back then!) to the insane advancements in technology... I really love the years I've lived in and watching the growth (and sadly, the strife) of the decades I've been part of! My father was a Military Lifer (jet fighter pilot) starting in WWII, I'd been to 17 countries by the age of 16.
What genre of books do you enjoy, Isabelle? Are you familiar with the website "Grammarly"? If not, I think it'd be "write" up your alley (pun intended on the word 'write for right', lol!) I enjoy crime/mysteries, Kathy Reichs is one of my favourite authors.
It's a pleasure chatting with you - have a great day!

Hello from British Columbia, Canada, Isabelle! I inherited my love of the written word from my (now deceased) Mum - it has saddened me to see what is becoming of the English language in all its forms - and beautiful handwriting, which Mum and all my Aunties (& a couple of Uncles!) had - they were all born in a different time, the 1910s-20s - I'm not suggesting we revert THAT far back, but the more time I spend on Social Media sites, the more appalled I am at the inability to spell basic words correctly.
Well, now that I've gotten that off my chest... when I want to find quotes of a particular genre, I simply type those words into Google! Welcome to the STANDS4 Network, I highly recommend you check out all the other 'pages' - the list is colour-coded at the bottom of this page.
