An outdoor church bulletin board in downtown New Cumberland, PA, has its only item this week (and it might last into next week or even next month) this following quote:

"The best things in life aren't things.
    – Art Buchwald"

Mr. Buchwald, who discovered humor (in good-natured satire) in just about anything and everything, I thin, would be absolutely pleased and gratified with the acknowledgement and delighted with the fact his wisdom remains alive, 'though he died 10 years ago. He might even find reason to write one more book; his resurrection on a Methodist church in smalltown central Pennsylvania.

      Marina,
I knew of Mr. Buchwald's humor way back in the 1950s when I was doing duty in France, and he wrote his column in and for the Paris edition of the Herald Tribune. His book about being booted from a hospice because helived there too long is inspiring and Buchwaldian funny.--bb
