Emma Raducanu

Emma Raducanu (Romanian pronunciation: [r?du'kanu]; born 13 November 2002) is a British professional tennis player. She has won the 2021 US Open and three singles titles on the ITF Circuit. She has a career-high singles ranking of world No. 23 and British No. 1, both achieved on 11 September 2021. Ranked No. 338 in the world, she reached the fourth round on her debut with a wildcard into main draw for the 2021 Wimbledon Championships. This helped her to access the qualifying competition for the 2021 US Open in August; after qualifying for the main draw, she went on to become the first qualifier, male or female, to reach and win a major singles final. In the final she defeated 19-year-old Leylah Fernandez to become the first British woman to win a major singles title since Virginia Wade at Wimbledon 1977. Raducanu did so without losing a single set throughout the tournament.
