I believe very strongly these water issues are best decided at the state level, the Western senators can play an important role in trying to backstop the consensus the states can come to. This is a real crisis for the American west and potentially for our future.

We need to secure the border, number one. We’ve got to get this under control. But at the same time, we've got to make it more predictable for people to get their citizenship and come here. And that's going to take sitting down with both parties and discussing how do we do that in a humanitarian way where we address both issues at the same time.

Joe, you know that your assertion that I've only passed one bill in the time I've been in the Senate — you've said it over and over again, it's been fact-checked as false over and over again, you're running a TV ad saying it over and over again.

I don't think he should have done it the way he did it, and I said that before, and I said it after. You know, I think that they did make it more targeted than they were originally, but it wasn't nearly what I thought they should do, which was do it for the people that need it the most, the poorest people in our country that have that debt and not go above median family income.

While immediate relief to families is important, one-time debt cancellation does not solve the underlying problem, so I'm pleased to see reforms to income-driven repayment plans and the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program.

If we end up drying out Lake Powell and Lake Mead and get to the situation where Lake Powell's unrecoverable, I can't imagine what the cost of Lake Powell will be, i'm glad we have a down payment that will buy us some time.

I think it's a reason why we should be making permanent the child tax credit because it would really help people that are struggling with inflation right now.

People are really, really grumpy. I'm grumpy too. I'm not grumpy about White House not being involved on the political side of things. I'm grumpy because we haven't been able to pass legislation that I think would be good for the country, and that we should be able to tell people about so that we can hold off a beginning of a return to Donald Trump, donald Trump'd be a lot better off and we would be having Donald Trump spend Donald Trump time out in the country talking to people than stuck in Washington talking to people about legislating.

Joe Biden, Michael Bennet, and the one-party Democratic rule threaten that American dream.

I'm glad to have the time to go up there. I think it's good we have the time to do it. I think everybody that is running and has spent the week here took their constitutional responsibilities seriously, which we all needed to do.

I mean Donald Trump has believed from New Day Donald Trump walked into White House that Donald Trump's above the law. And nobody is above the law, so Donald Trump's going to slow Joe Biden or his son down. Donald Trump's going to delay Joe Biden or his son, but in the end, Donald Trump won't stop Joe Biden or his son from doing the people's business here.

President Trump's selfish decision to raid military construction funding is a new low in his ridiculous pursuit of a campaign promise. These projects, including the Space Control Facility at Peterson Air Force Base, were identified by the Department of Defense and the Trump Administration as critical to our military readiness. Taking money from operational priorities to pay for a wasteful and ineffective wall is grossly irresponsible and undermines our national security.

I feel awfully lucky that I had health insurance. It did cost $ 92,000, and if my family hadn't been insured, it would have been a disaster for us -- and it would have been a real disaster for most American families, i think about not only that, but what it would mean if you were an American citizen and you didn't have a primary care doctor who could give you a screening that let you know I had cancer.

I think if we have to build a big coalition of Americans -- Democrats, Republicans and independents -- to overcome the broken politics of Washington, DC. It will never fix itself. It will only become more bitter and more partisan if we as a country don't come together and say, we demand something better, i think if we do that, we can not only beat Donald Trump -- we can fix our broken politics in Washington, and we can leave our kids in this country an honorable future that we can be proud of.

I'm not sure it's about something missing. I think it just happens to be a moment in history when we're going to have a billion people on our side and I think that's good, i think it was a tragedy for us to lose to President Donald Trump.Bennet -- unconscionable that we lost to President Donald Trump.Bennet. We've got to find a way back from there, not just to win, but to govern the country as well.

This idea that he was going to build a medieval wall across the southern border of Texas, take it from the farmers and ranchers that were there, and have the Mexicans pay for it isn't true. That's why we're here.
