For a number of years, people have been speculating whether the elements involved in the insurgency in the south will be hitting other targets beyond the southern provinces, but we've never seen that happen. And it would be intriguing, if indeed there is any link, why this would happen now. almost all of the insurgent groups have been involved in a dialogue with the military government, so it's illogical for Paul Chambers to want to have a bomb.

A possibility is it's Uyghur terrorists, or Uyghur people upset at the regime for deporting many Uyghur people to China -- after all there were Chinese killed in this attack. But I think this is very unlikely.

If Yingluck is impeached this could easily spark snowballing sympathy for Yingluck and a resurrection of pro-Thaksin and pro-democracy sentiment that could give way to the potential beginning of demonstrations, military repression of these demonstrations could increase sympathy for them, and the longer the military remains in power, the less likely it can sustain societal approval for doing so.
