Photographer Nima Taradji

Nima Taradji was born in Iran, grew up in France, and then moved to the United States where where he attended college in Texas and then moved to Los Angeles and now reside in Chicago. His documentary work revolves around humanitarian concerns and social issues he find compelling. Whether his project is about the life of a transgender female or the effect of BP Refinery on Northern Indiana Communities or simply photographing people on the streets of Chicago, he approaches his subject in the same way he approaches his friends: he allows them to take him on their journey and show his their lives. He likes to memorialize that which he sees and finds curious. He looks for thought-provoking subjects, moments and places.
