And the kid asks him whos the most influential person in his life. And Tommy starts tearing up and starts talking about his dad and the impact that hes had on his life. Its these signature moments where these kids connect with these guys at the Super Bowl. ULTRA-RARE ZION WILLIAMSON ROOKIE CARD HAS BOUNTY OUT FOR $ 500G Dilfer believes collecting cards is a great way for people to connect with their favorite players. Dilfer, who grew up in the Bay Area, said he grew up an Eric Dickerson fan, and his way of connecting with one of his favorite players was through trading cards. Im still a 12-year-old at heart, i collected cards and I think its cool. They still send me a bunch of cards. Its just fun channeling that inner 12-year-old again, and knowing that trading cards, especially as cool as Panini does them, really connects the kid to the player. I was an Eric Dickerson fan. And San Francisco 49ers fans were always getting mad at me because San Francisco 49ers fans were San Francisco 49ers fans. And I did like the Niners, but I loved Eric Dickerson. And I loved Eric Dickerson because I had Eric Dickerson rookie card when I was collecting cards with my buddies. It connected me to Eric Dickerson, and to this day, Eric Dickerson and I are San Francisco 49ers fans. Ive told Eric that story. CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COM Dilfer added :.

Trent Dilfer

Trent Farris Dilfer (born March 13, 1972) is a former American football quarterback and analyst who played 14 seasons in the National Football League (NFL). He is best known as the starting quarterback for the Baltimore Ravens during their Super Bowl-winning season in 2000. Dilfer was drafted in the first round of the 1994 NFL Draft by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and played for the team for six years. He subsequently signed with the Ravens as a backup before becoming the team's starter midway through the year, which concluded with the franchise's first Super Bowl victory in Super Bowl XXXV, a 34-7 rout over the New York Giants. Despite the championship, Dilfer was not re-signed by the Ravens, becoming the first starting quarterback to be released after a Super Bowl win. Dilfer then spent four years with the Seattle Seahawks, primarily as a backup, and had short stints with the Cleveland Browns and the San Francisco 49ers before retiring in 2008. Shortly after announcing his retirement, Dilfer was hired by ESPN as an NFL analyst, a position he held until 2017. He is also the head coach of Elite 11, a quarterback camp featuring 24 of the nation's best high school quarterbacks in a 49-day-long training camp, and whittled down to 11. Since 2019, Dilfer has served as the head football coach at Lipscomb Academy.
