Carlos Alcaraz

Carlos Alcaraz Garfia (born 5 May 2003) is a Spanish professional tennis player. He has been ranked as high as world No. 19 in singles by the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP), which he first achieved in February 2022. He has won two ATP Tour singles titles and produced his best Grand Slam singles performance at the 2021 US Open after reaching the quarterfinals. As a junior, Alcaraz was ranked as high as No. 22 in the world and he won two titles on the International Tennis Federation (ITF) junior circuit. After turning professional in 2018, Alcaraz won three titles on the ITF Men's World Tennis Tour and four on the ATP Challenger Tour, and broke into the top 100 in rankings in May 2021. Two months later, he reached his first ATP Tour final at the 2021 Croatia Open, where he won his first title to become the youngest ATP Tour titlist since Kei Nishikori in 2008. He entered the top 50 after reaching the quarterfinals at the 2021 US Open, and won the 2021 Next Generation ATP Finals. At the 2022 Rio Open, he became the youngest player to win an ATP 500 title, and entered the top 20.
