Lance Gooden

Lance Carter Gooden (born December 1, 1982) is the U.S. Representative for Texas's 5th congressional district, having won the general election held on November 6, 2018. The district includes much of eastern Dallas, as well as a swath of exurban and rural territory to Dallas' east. Gooden previously served in the Texas House of Representatives for District 4 (Henderson and Kaufman counties). He served two terms in the state House from 2011 to 2015 before he lost his re-election bid in the 2014 Republican primary election. He was returned to office in 2016 for this third nonconsecutive term in the legislature.
