Apache Uprising

Bill Gibson:
Fools! Jug-headed fools! Coming out here in Apache country like they was taking a ride down a city street back East. They never learn until they're dead, and then it don't make no never mind.

Capt. Gannon:
Walker, were you ever in the Army?

Jim Walker:
I rode with Hood.

Capt. Gannon:
I had you figured for a Reb.

Jim Walker:
But that's all behind us, Captain. I fight no wars for a lost cause.

Bill Gibson:
It seems like the Army is always nearby, but never there.

Bill Gibson:
Kind of close back there. That little sidewinder was about to draw down on you.

Jim Walker:
Oh, he was just looking to carve another notch in his gun.

Jim Walker:
Do you know what the word 'Apache' means? It means enemy. A twenty-four hours a day enemy. An enemy that's anything that walks on two legs.

Jim Walker:
As mean as they come.

Bill Gibson:
Yeah. I've seen them take a man and cut his feet an make him walk on cactus. And that is merely before they begin to torture him.

Jim Walker:
I had a partner once who got caught by some of Victorio's Mescaleros. They staked him out on an ant hill, slit his eyelidss and then let nature take it's course.

Vance Buckner:
You know, someday I'm going to get tired of you talking and make you pull that gun. And that will be the last thing you ever do.

Jess Cooney:
Now, he don't mean nothing, Vance. He's young. He'll learn.

Vance Buckner:
He better or he won't get older.

Jim Walker:
Little man...big mouth.

Toby Jack Saunders:
Big man...big gun. Now, do you want to see how big?

Hoyt Taylor:
I'm Hoyt Taylor, District Manager for Butterfield. We have a stage going to Lawrenceburg at noon. Just because you ran into Indians back there doesn't mean we'll run into trouble ahead. Isn't that right?

Bill Gibson:
If I know Apaches, there'll be a heap of trouble everywhere.

Toby Jack Saunders:
If that stagecoach don't leave, we are going to be in a lot of trouble. We're going to lose a lot of money.

Jess Cooney:
Yeah, I know. But if those Apaches is on the warpath, I don't aim to end toes up to the sun with a lance through my grizzard for a tombstone.

Hoyt Taylor:
I wonder why she hid out in a place like Apache Wells.

Henry Belden:
Well, she'll find nothing but contempt and scorn in this territory. Her reputation goes ahead of her.

Hoyt Taylor:
And lingers after.
