Dusty:
It's just we don't need fast, we need

[pause]

Dusty:
really, really fast.

Dipsy:
[listening to the conversation above] Okay. Alright. This could be interesting. [listens] Oh my. [listens] Oh... um, uh-huh. [listens] What the...? [listens] Woah. [listens] Yikes. [listens] Oh my!

Dipsy, Kodi, Dusty, Kirby, Ralph, Mel:
What?

Dipsy:
The postmaster's agreed to a race to see who's faster, the bushplane or the dogs.

Kodi:
We're saved! We'll beat the tail off of that bushplane.

Mel:
Are you crazy? Have you seen how fast that monster flies?

Dusty:
We can't afford to lose!

Ralph:
No kidding. We're gonna need someone fast and experienced to lead us in the race.

Kirby:
You can count on me! Er, what? What?

Dusty:
Well, Kirby, it's just, uh, we don't need fast, we need [short pause] really, really fast.

Kirby:
Oh? Oh... yeah. Yeah! Right. The fastest dog in Nome. [turns toward Ralph]

Ralph:
The most famous dog in Nome. [turns toward Kodi]

Kodi:
[proudly] My dad!

Kodi:
We could have lost our jobs because of that man.

Jenna:
Kodi? Kodiak, come here!

Kodi:
Yeah, mom.

Jenna:
What are you doing here? I-I thought you went with your dad.

Kodi:
No,I-I didn't.

Jenna:
[sighs] You mean your dad's out there alone? Oh, why didn't you go?

Kodi:
Well I,

[sighs]

Kodi:
I don't know. I don't know why he's even looking.

Jenna:
Oh, Kodi, I-I don't believe you. There is a man out there who may be dying.

Kodi:
We could've lost our jobs because of that man.

Jenna:
You think your job is worth more than a life?

[sighs]

Jenna:
I should've gone with Balto.

Kodi:
Neither rain nor snow nor sleet nor hail shall stop the U.S. Mail.

Kirby:
Zip it, Ralph!

Kodi:
I'm kinda hoping for a chance at lead dog, like you, dad.

Ralph:
Warmer weather, mushier snow.

Moose 1:
[in a Robert De Niro voice] You talkin' to me?

Kirby:
We would've been on time if you hadn't been dragging your butt the whole way!

Ralph:
Me? I've got a broken toenail and it's driving me crazy!

Kirby:
You can count on me! Er, what? What?

Dusty:
It's just we don't need fast, we need [pause] really, really fast.

Kodi:
[proudly] My dad!

Kirby:
Rookies. They're all the same.

Dusty:

Kirby:
What is that thing? [looking at the plane]

Ralph:
Watch it, Balto.

Kodi:
Daaaaad, don't go getting any ideas. [as Balto hops into the plane]

Balto:
Me? You think I'd just hop in and go for a flight?

Kodi:
Yes.

Balto:
You're right. I would if I could.

Balto:
He's like the father I never had.

Balto:
Nobody quits on my team! Nobody!

Muc and Luc:
[talking about the 'monster'] It was louder than a wild-eyed grizzly!

Balto, Jenna:
[looking at each other, panicked] The bushplane!

Kirby:
Then you can count on me! Er, what? What?

Dusty:
It's just, we don't need fast, we need [pause] really really fast.

Kirby:
The fastest dog in Nome. [turns toward Ralph]

Ralph:
The greatest dog in Nome. [turns toward Kodi]

Kodi:
[proudly] My dad!

Dipsy:
[about the plane] What the heck is it?

Mel:
I'm not worried, I'm just reasonably concerned.

Jenna:

Muc and Luc:

Stella:
Balto the trouble-dog, right?

Stella:
[singing] Come on up and do a little flyin' with me.

Boris:

Ralph:
My achin' places I didn't know I had.

Balto:
I thought the difference was that only one has a heart.

Ralph:
[sore after the mail run] Oh, my achin' places I didn't know I had.

Balto:
[about Boris] He may be a pain in the butt.

Jenna:
I still don't understand how that big steel... whatever can fly like a bird.

Balto:
[about the plane, which has just landed] It's here! My God, it's here!

Mel:
[about the plane, which has just landed] What in the name of Yukon Jack is *that*?

Kirby:
We're behind ya one hundred percent, Balto!

Balto:
Come on, Dusty. You got it!

Ralph:
You can beat that plane paws down now that you're lead dog.

Balto:
Listen.

Kirby:

Kodi:
If anyone can do it, you can!

Balto:
Everyone listen. I-I've seen it fly. I-I just think we have to consider the possibility...

Kirby:
Let's do the call! [Kirby and the other dogs howl except Balto]

Balto:
[nearly backs into Kodi, then runs off]

Kodi:
[to mail dogs] All I ever wanted to do was be a part of your team. Bringing the mail and supplies is all about helping people. And now when somebody really needs our help, we're sitting on our butts. I mean if this is what it takes to be a mail dog... then I'm not sure that's what I want to be.

Boris:
Is terrible. I'm going on date with gorgeous goose.

Balto:
Now that *is* scary.

Boris:
[having apparently succeeded after numerous failed attempts to conquer acrophobia] Ah! What do you know? I am flying. Ha-haaa! I am one hot goose!

Balto:
I'm not sure Stella's gonna see it that way. [Boris flies past about a foot off the ground]

Balto:
I've known Boris since I was a pup. Well, he may be a pain in the butt, but he's... well, he's the dad I never had.

Stella:

Son, there are more important things than your job. That man is out there probably freezing to death and you're just here sitting, doing nothing about it. Good day to you SIR!

Kodi:
But dad! I don't even think he's out there! And even if he was, he tried to steal our jobs! He is the ENEMY!

Balto:
That is no excuse. You think your job is worth more than a life? [sighs] I thought you were better than that! [leaves]

Kodi:
[sighs] I'm sorry, dad.

Jenna:
Did Dad tell when he saw you leading the others that night, it was the proudest moment of his life?

Kodi:
Well, not in so many words, but I got it.

Ralph:
Are you ready? I'm ready! Are you ready? 'Cause I'm ready!

Balto:
Something tells me he's ready.

Kodi:
This is gonna be great, dad.

Balto:
I thought you missed me too much.

Balto:

Jenna:

Stella:
[to Balto about Muk and Luk] They're kinda cute, if you have a thing for polar bears.

Balto:
Looks like the mail finally arrived today.

Jenna:
[chuckles] Very funny, Balto. You *know* Kodi is proud of his new job.

Balto:
Right on time, son.

Ralph:
If we can't deliver the mail, who would want us?

Balto:
[to mail team] This is serious. Now look, that plane is out there somewhere. And we're the only ones who can help.

Kirby:
Well, that just proves our point. The difference between a dog and a machine is: dogs are tough and reliable.

Balto:

Kodi:
[after Balto tells him about the plane being faster] You're just wrong!

Dusty:
[jokingly] What're they gonna do, fire us? [team laughs]

Dusty:
[to Kodi, who is trying to convince the team to help Duke] Joining the other side?

Kodi:
We're late again!

Kirby:
Yeah, well, what's the big deal? We're just runnin' the mail, not savin' the town.

Ralph:
Like your old man!

Kirby:
Zip it, Ralph! We would've been on time if you hadn't been draggin' your butt the whole way!

Ralph:
Me? I've got a broken toenail and it's driving me crazy! Besides, Kirby, you kept yanking to the right!

Kirby:
I had a lousy breakfast this mornin'! I got no energy!

Dusty:
Hey, hey, it wasn't our faults, y'know? Hello! The ice was slippery? And I mean, everybody knows the snow is treacherous in the spring.

Kodi:
But that's no excuse for being late! Everyone counts on us! Neither snow, nor rain, nor sleet, nor hail will stop the U.S. mail!

Dusty:
[chuckling] Yeah, what are they gonna do? Fire us?

[laughs]

Kirby:
Look, Kodi. Bottom line: we got the mail to Nome. Enough said.

Boris:
Enough! Enough! Enough! How many times am I telling you! Stop what you are doing!

Muk:
Oh. But wasn't that fun, Uncle Boris?

Boris:
Fun? Fun is birthday party! That was big pain in touche! I say stop! You go! I say no more! You do more! What? What? You have rocks in your head?

Muk:
Nope! I'm all clear! Can't say the same for Luk though.

Boris:
Sit Down when I'm talking to you!

Stella:
[to herself behind a rock] There's a goose with guts.

Boris:
Now! Go away and do not come back FOR FORTY OR FIFTY YEARS!

Muk:
[Walking away with Luk] Yes, Uncle Boris, right away. See ya tomorrow!

Boris:
Ho! Phew!

Balto:
Kodi?

Kodi:
We heard you had a special delivery for Nome.

Balto:
Right on time son.

Kodi:
Listen guys, I-I' been thinking, maybe the pilot really is lost.

Dusty:
Joining the other side?

Kodi:
Of course not, I'm one of you, It's just well, the temperature is dropping and, He's just a human, he could freeze to death.

Ralph:
So, he should of thought of the risks, before he challenged us to a race.

Kodi:
Yeah but...

Kirby:
Hey, Your either with us, or against us.

Kodi:
All I ever wanted to do was be a part of your team, Bringing the mail and supplies is all about helping everyone, And now when somebody really needs our help, we're sitting on our butts, I mean, if this is what it means to be a mail dog then I, not sure that's what I want to be.

Balto:
It will come, you see, it will come.

Jenna:
[yawns] Why does that have such a familiar ring to it.

Balto:
I know, we been coming up here for the last three days.

Jenna:
At the crack of dawn.

Balto:
Okay, so it's been a little under the early side, but that's when I saw it, trust me, it will be worth it.

Jenna:

[the plane passes over them making such a loud noise it wakes up Jenna] Its louder then a wild-eye grisly!

Balto:
isn't it beautiful, come on Jenna!

Jenna:
[Jenna has just caught up with balto after chasing the bush plane] Okay, it was... worth it... even if I'am going to have a heart attack... what is it?

Balto:
I don't know, but look at it go, don't you ever wonder what its like up there? Looking down on the world.

Jenna:
No, not me, I don't get how that big steel... whatever can fly like a bird

Balto:
What a feeling.

Jenna:
You want to be up there, flying?

Balto:
Sometimes, in my dreams, I'm soaring above the clouds, free

Jenna:
What are you doing here, its late.

Balto:
I just thought I say hello.

Jenna:
you couldn't waited till morning?

Balto:
I thought you missed me too much.

Jenna:

Balto:

Jenna:

Balto:
I don't know, It's just, when we saw that plane, Its so fast, I can't, there's no way to keep up with it, How can I look Kodi in the eyes if we lose.

Jenna:

Balto:
He knows me as the town hero, The great Balto saving Nome, What happens when I'am the same balto loses the mail run.

Jenna:
Oh Balto.

Boris:
Yes, Yes, This is good, very good.

Balto:
You really think a bunch of dogs can beat a airplane?.

Boris:
Of course not, is impossible.

Balto:
Oh, thanks for the vote of confidence, so if you think we're going to lose, why are you so happy?

Boris:
Because I have solved my Stella problem.

Balto:
Oh, Let me guess, your going to tell her the truth?

Boris:
Are you crazy? [pretends to be in pain] Oh the pain!, the pain ah!, and all the magatoury injures, back!.

Balto:
What magatoury injure? I known you my whole life and you haven't migrated anywhere.

Boris:
But does it matter, If I'm in pain, I can not fly yes?

Balto:
Dont worry, this will work.

Boris:
Dont worry he says, ha.

Balto:
There, what do you see?

Boris:
Nothing, what you think I see?

Balto:
Well, Flap around like this for a while and, you get use to the feel of flying, then you forget that you're up in the air.

Boris:
you know makes sense in, in such a logical way. [Runs and flaps wings to go up in the air]

Balto:
That's it, that's it you're doing it, you'r doing great, how does it feel?

Boris:
Not bad except I have no Idea where I'm going [crashes into tree] Ahhh!

Balto:
[Boris tries again but with his eyes close] Keep going, keep going!

Boris:
Is working, is working!

Balto:
You got it, now open your eyes.

Boris:
[Boris opens his eyes then falls to the ground] Ahhhh!

Boris:
[Third time Boris is flying but very close to the ground] Thank you no, I am flying, I am one hot grouse!

Balto:
I'm not sure Stella's going the to see it that way.

Boris:
I'am good, I am the grouse! [Boris then crashes into a tree] Ahhh!

Kodi:
Hi dad, hi mom.

Balto:
Looking good out there son.

Kodi:
You think so? I've been practicing on the beach I'm kind of... Well I'm hoping for a chance at lead dog, like you dad.

Balto:
Well, if you keep working hard I'm sure you get there. [Balto sees the place that he chased earlier that has now landed] Its here! My god it's here!

Kodi:
What's here?

Stella:
[Balto is running to where Duke and the plane crashed when Stella comes to talk about Boris] Balto the trouble-dog, right?

Balto:
Hey Stella, sorry but I'm kind of busy. Listen, tell Boris when you see him I'll be gone for a while.

Stella:
But Boris is why I'm coming to see you. Not that I'm interested, but to see the bump come back.

Balto:
Come back? Where he'd he go? I thought he was with you.

Stella:
Let's say he took a little un-scheduled flight on that bush plane, that served him right the stinker.

Balto:
[Balto stops running] Boris was on the place?

Stella:
I'd saw him get packed on myself, don't ask.

Balto:
Stella I think, well, I think the plane crashed.

Stella:
What?

Balto:
Boris! Boris! It's an emergency!

Boris:
Ahh Balto! [ to himself: Its about time] is Balto. Always in trouble this dog. If I'm not bailing him out then he is caput. Maybe we fly some other time.

Stella:
but, but, but.

Balto:
You must be the famous Stella.

Stella:
And you must be the famous Balto, the trouble dog.

Balto:
Boris?

Boris:
Come! We take care of emergency. Come come! Bye Stella.

Stella:
Huh? Bye Boris. [Balto and Boris are walking away from Stella]

Boris:
Bravo, Balto. Magnificent. Accept for talking too much and then. He he! we fooled her!

Balto:
Boris I wasn't faking it. There really is an a emergency. A big race, the mail dogs against the bush plane. Whoever wins get to deliver to Nome. And they want me to lead the dog sled team.

Boris:
So what is problem?

Balto:
I chased that bush place. I can't beat it.

Boris:
That could be problem.

Jenna:
I wonder how far they are by now.

Mel:
Well, assuming they didn't get lost or attacked by bears or Balto didn't break his leg or the mail didn't fall out of the sled or Kodi didn't barf or - never mind.

Dipsy:
[Dipsy comes dragging a sack of beef jerky near Mel and Jenna] Well wouldn't you look at what the dog dragged in? Triple A number 1 first Quality beef jerky. And did old Guntersson see a thing? Absolutely not. You know I'm getting so good I scare my self. [Dipsy gets a piece of beef jerky out] Anyone?

Mel:
Eat? At a time like this?

Jenna:
Err, go ahead Dipsy.

Dipsy:
Thanks. I don't mind if I do. [Dipsy eats a piece of beef jerky]

Jenna:
Hey, what are you doing out here? The party's out on the beach.

Balto:
I'm just wondering what happend to Duke.

Jenna:
Are you really worried?

Muk:
Balto! Balto! It was awful, it was terrible. Did I say it was awful? [Luk nods] there we were fishing the river just minding our own business when it... it... it ATTACKED!

Balto:
What attacked?

Muk:
The monster. [Luk acts like a monster] Ahh!

Balto:
Wait a minute a monster?

Muk:
We could barely see it through the fog. But we could hear it. Getting closer and closer. Of course we didn't stick around. we boated. It chased us howling and snarling. Until finally it bounced out of the sky. If Luk hadn't yanked me out of the way we would of been crashed. [Muc and Luk cry]

Jenna:
Wheres this monster now?

Muk:
Out there. It's stuck in the snow. That's how we escaped.

Balto:
It bounced out of the sky? [Muc and Luk nod] And the snarling was it really loud?

Muk:
Loud. It was louder then a wild-eye-grizzly.

Jenna, Balto:
The bush plane!
