Bloodlust: Subspecies III

Rebecca:
[Narration] I came to Romania to find my sister, Michelle. But, the Police and the American Embassy found her first.

Mel:
[Flashback from Bloodstone: Subspecies II] This may sound a little strange, but yesterday afternoon your sister, Michelle, was found unconscious in her hotel room.

Popescu:
[Flashback from Bloodstone: Subspecies II] If what you say is true the vampire, Radu, is here in Bucharest and your sister is his disciple.

Rebecca:
[Narration] With the help of Professor Popescu from the Folk Art Museum, I discovered the awful truth and fell into the clutches of an ancient family of vampires.

Michelle:
[Flashback from Bloodstone: Subspecies II] Let her go!

Radu:
[Flashback from Bloodstone: Subspecies II] Drink with me, fledgling. Savor the taste of your sister's suffering.

Rebecca:
[Flashback from Bloodstone: Subspecies II] No!

Michelle:
[Flashback from Bloodstone: Subspecies II] Die you bastard! [stakes Radu]

Rebecca:
[Flashback from Bloodstone: Subspecies II] Come on, Michelle.

Michelle:
[Flashback from Bloodstone: Subspecies II] I can't - the sun.

Rebecca:
[Flashback from Bloodstone: Subspecies II] I'll wait for you 'till dark.

Mummy:
[to Michelle] I curse you for your beauty. For the innocence of your flesh. For the power you hold over my child.

Mummy:
[to Radu about Michelle] Her blood will give you life.

Rebecca:
Is there a telephone here, please?

Innkeeper:
Telephone? Yeah.

Rebecca:
Hello? Uh, Bucharest. The American Embassy, please. Uh, I- [hands telephone back to Innkeeper]

Lieutenant Marin:
[in Romanian] Find anything?

Policeman:
[in Romanian] No, Sir. Only the blood. It's empty, Marin. Except for the few poor souls who have been buried for centuries.

Rebecca:
What's the story, Lieutenant?

Lieutenant Marin:
[motions towards Popescu's corpse]

Rebecca:
What about Michelle?

Lieutenant Marin:
Sorry, Miss. No sister, no Radu, no little witches.

Rebecca:
She's in there. Somewhere. She has to be.

Lieutenant Marin:
Please, Miss. Tell me again. What's happening here? Who killed Popescu?

Mel:
Rebecca, we want to believe you.

Rebecca:
They're vampires, Mel. Vampires, Marin. There's something worse.

Mel:
Marin, can I talk to you for a moment?

Lieutenant Marin:
Yes. 'Scuse me, Miss. [walks away]

Michelle:
Oh, no! I'm sorry. I'm sorry, please. No! Don't hurt me!

Radu:
We're together now... pretty one!

Mummy:
[to Radu] Mortals have defiled my sanctuary! We must fly.

Lieutenant Marin:
[to Policemen] Call in the bomb squad.

Mel:
I'm sorry. Okay, there's definitely something weird going on here.

Lieutenant Marin:
Some kind of explosion, yeah?

Rebecca:
No! It was *them* leaving. I could hear Michelle screaming in there.

Mel:
Call me when you wake up. I'll come get ya.

Rebecca:
Would you stay with me tonight? I don't wanna be alone.

Mel:
Yeah, sure.

Radu:
From this night forth, we shall be as one. For that is mine, will be yours. Kneel before your master!

Michelle:
[kneels before Radu traps her in a steel cage] Let me out of here!

Radu:
I will let you out. I might even set you free, when you're ready.

Michelle:
You promised you would teach me everything.

Radu:
First, you must learn patience. We have all the time in the world.

Mummy:
[to Michelle] Someday, child, when Radu tires of you, you'll belong to me. Then, you'll know harm.

Popescu's Secretary:
Poor, Nicolai.

Rebecca:
I-I'm sorry.

Mel:
My condolences, Ma'am. He was a fine scholar. A delightful gentleman.

Popescu's Secretary:
He was a crazy, old fool! Such a stupid way to die!

Mel:
Ma'am, last time we were here I-I left some papers in his office I-I was wondering I...

Popescu's Secretary:
Yes, go ahead. But, please, don't disturb anything.

Lieutenant Marin:
[via megaphone to inhabitants of castle] This is Lieutenant Marin. Police of Bucharest. Where is the gate, please? How we get inside?

Lieutenant Marin:
[sees Mel and Rebecca] Hello!

Mel:
For Christ's sake!

Rebecca:
Should we drop the sticks or-what?

Mel:
Uh, no, no, just um, act natural.

Lieutenant Marin:
Well, is you my friend.

Mel:
Hi, Marin.

Rebecca:
Well, I'm glad to see you're finally taking me seriously, Lieutenant.

Lieutenant Marin:
It's very serious. Murder. And now, uh, why are you here? To see if Marin is doing duty?

Mel:
Uh, no. We're just uh, looking around.

Lieutenant Marin:
Look. Come here. Empty graves, missing persons, dead Popescu, this case making me crazy!

Rebecca:
Have you gotten into the castle yet, Lieutenant?

Lieutenant Marin:
No, no, it's no one to open gate. Now, we need rightful permission to enter.

Rebecca:
Permission?

Lieutenant Marin:
Yeah.

Rebecca:
From whom?

Lieutenant Marin:
Oh, the Director of Antiquities.

Mel:
How long is that gonna take?

Lieutenant Marin:
Two weeks. Maybe two months.

Rebecca:
We can't wait that long. God knows what could happen by then!

Lieutenant Marin:
Now, listen to-listen to me-mes. I wish this case to be solved as much as you!

Mel:
Calm down, Marin.

Lieutenant Marin:
I'm calm, but, I too have been busy over vampire story. You know what's happening?

Rebecca:
*What?*

Lieutenant Marin:
He scream at me for half hour. Now, I am big trouble, thank you, to you!

Rebecca:
Yeah, well, the trouble is just beginning, Marin.

Lieutenant Marin:
The Department of Police is not believing in the vampires.

Rebecca:
*What* are you doing here, Lieutenant? *What* is your theory?

Lieutenant Marin:
Your sister is mixed up in black market. Antiques. Stolen from graves.

Rebecca:
Excuse me, Lieutenant. [walks away]

Lieutenant Marin:
Please.

Mel:
Thanks, Marin.

Lieutenant Marin:
It's alright.

Mel:
Hey! You know you really shouldn't try so hard to piss people off.

Rebecca:
[about Lieutenant Marin] I'm sorry, Mel. But, with him it just comes so naturally.

Mel:
I told ya. He's not the smartest guy in town. But, he can be a good ally. Come on.

Mel:
No. It's blocked. They blocked the passageway.

Lieutenant Marin:
You are sure-you are sure this is correct way?

Mel:
Yes, Marin. It wasn't like this before.

Rebecca:
[referring to Mummy and Radu] Obviously, they were expecting us.

Lieutenant Marin:
Tomorrow morning. Contact to the boss. Speak for yourself, yeah?

Mel:
Yes, we'll do that, Marin.

Rebecca:
Can't wait to meet him, Lieutenant.

Mel:
Wait, Rebecca. Look, it's getting late. We should get outta here before dark.

Rebecca:
Okay, I just wanna watch the place for a little while.

Rebecca:
[referring to Mummy and Radu] They're in there. Don't let them see us.

Mel:
[sees Mummy] Jesus!

Rebecca:
We're not safe here.

Mel:
Come on, let's go. Come on, we can't do anything 'till daylight anyway. Come on.

Mummy:
[referring to Rebecca and Mel] They dare to challenge us? Your sister is a foolish one.

Michelle:
Leave her alone! I'll do anything.

Radu:
Sever the ties to your mortality, Michelle. All your pain will turn to pleasure.

Michelle:
She's my sister. I love her.

Radu:
There is no love between the living and the dead. What you feel is hunger. Hunger for life. Kneel before your master.

Michelle:
You promised to teach me.

Mummy:
Destroy her, Radu. She curses you in her heart.

Radu:
I shall grant you, I promised. When you prove yourself worthy.

Michelle:

Radu:

Michelle:

Radu:
Patience, pretty one! For the mysteries you must learn to survive, to hunt, to move with stealth. Fetch your inner powers. [Michelle transports herself next to Radu] You are a magnificent creature.

Mel:
What? What is it?

Rebecca:
I heard a scream. Oh, must've just come from the tavern. Hey, there's your friend, Lieutenant Marin.

Mel:
No.

Rebecca:
Yeah.

Mel:
Oh, I'll be damned. He's spying on us.

Radu:
We must go now. The sun is coming.

Michelle:
Wait. I wanna see the dawn.

Michelle:
We will wait. Until the pain begins.

Michelle:
Is it true? That the sunlight can kill us?

Radu:
Yes.

Michelle:
What else? What else can kill a vampire?

Radu:
Many things.

Michelle:
Kill me, Radu. You've destroyed me.

Radu:
Someday, this pain you feel will be a sweet memory.

Michelle:
I can't bear this any longer.

Radu:

Michelle:
I hate you. I'll hate you for all of eternity.

Radu:
We must go now. Our powers will weaken with the light.

Mel:
[to Rebecca] You're gonna like this guy. He's CIA, but he's totally cool. [on telephone] Bob? It's Mel. Turn off your tape recorder, buddy. I've got a favor to ask. Totally off the record.

Rebecca:
Jesus, Marin!

Lieutenant Marin:
Don't worry. I'm only me. What's happening?

Mel:
Just exploring, Marin.

Lieutenant Marin:
Oh, looking for vampire, huh? Oh, Americans. Crazy people! Vampire. It's very nice up here. Maybe I stay here today, with you. Huh?

Mel:
Suit yourself, Marin. Just don't be surprised at what you see.

Bob:
Hey, Bud.

Mel:
Jesus, Bob! Hey, Marin, it's okay! He's a friend.

Bob:
Everybody cool here?

Mel:
Yeah. Bob this Rebecca. Rebecca this is my friend, Bob.

Rebecca:
Hi, Bob. Nice to meet you.

Mel:
Ma'am.

Mel:
And, uh, Lieutenant Marin. Bucharest Police.

Bob:
I know, Sir.

Lieutenant Marin:
Hello, CIA Bob, huh? I thought you were a sniper at first.

Bob:
No, Sir.

Lieutenant Marin:
Okay.

Mel:
[referring to castle wall] Think we can make it?

Bob:
No problem.

Bob:
[after climbing castle wall] Your turn, man.

Rebecca:
You can do that?

Mel:
No. That's why I climb with him.

Rebecca:
Good luck.

Mel:
[after climbing into the castle window] Jesus!

Bob:
Good climbing, man. We're in. [to Rebecca via walkie-talkie] Okay, we're gonna go offline now, unless you have an emergency don't call us. We'll call you.

Rebecca:
No! Mel!

Lieutenant Marin:
It's too much mountains for radio. We should go for help.

Rebecca:
We can't leave, yet. [referring to Michelle, Mel, and Bob] What if they got away?

Lieutenant Marin:
Okay. We wait and see.

Rebecca:
No matter what happens-don't hurt Michelle.

Lieutenant Marin:
Yes, of course.

Rebecca:
You understand what I'm telling you, Marin?

Lieutenant Marin:
Yes. Don't hurt sister. Yes.

Rebecca:
Yeah.

Lieutenant Marin:
Wait until it is most dark. So, no one had seen me.

Michelle:
Don't touch me!

Radu:
Be kind to me, and I shall bestow upon you, a priceless treasure. [after drinking from Michelle's neck] Your blood grows bitter. Soon you'll be mine completely.

Bob:
[to Rebecca via walkie-talkie] Sounds like trouble ahead. Female voice. We're gonna check it out.

Rebecca:
No. The witch doesn't sleep by day.

Radu:
The throne is mine.

Mummy:
My treasure! Give it to me at once!

Michelle:
No.

Mummy:
You defy me?

Radu:
[referring to Michelle] It belongs to the fledgling, Mother. I bestowed it upon her.

Mummy:
You are forbidden my spoils.

Radu:
Those treasures are my birthright.

Mummy:
They are mine alone.

Radu:
Think of me not, Mother. There will be a bloodbath.

Mummy:
[referring to Michelle] She is the cause of your treachery. Destroy her.

Radu:
She is my chosen disciple.

Mummy:
She acts as your master. You are her master, as I am yours.

Radu:
I have no master.

Mummy:
She must die!

Radu:
Forgive me, Mother. [stabs Mummy to death]

Michelle:
No!

Mummy:
You dare to desecrate me? Curse you forever!

Radu:
Now, I have it all. Don't I? Pretty one?

Michelle:
Let me drink from the Bloodstone.

Radu:
You're not ready yet. This power will drive you mad. I killed my father, my mother, my entire bloodline, for you. What will you grant me in return?

Michelle:
Forgive this. For what you've done to me.

Radu:
There is not enough forgiveness in the universe. For all I've done.

Mel:
[whispering] Miss Morgan? Miss Morgan? I'm from the US Embassy. I'm a friend of Rebecca's. I would very much like to help you. I know Rebecca would too.

Radu:
Listen mortal - and you must. [digs nails into Mel's arm]

Mel:
Please, Sir. No.

Radu:
Feast upon him, Michelle.

Mel:
No!

Radu:
See the fear? Pulsing in his veins. Drink!

Mel:
No, please!

Radu:
Savor the sweetness of his agony.

Mel:
Please, Miss Morgan. Don't. We could get you outta here.

Radu:
Drink, Michelle. Forget you were ever a mortal.

Mel:
Please! No!

Radu:
This mortal love you bear is a threat to our existence!

Michelle:
Please, Radu. I have to speak to her. I'll come back. I promise. I'll do anything if you spare her life.

Radu:
Very well. Your sister's life in return for your absolute devotion.

Rebecca:
[referring to Mel and woman trapped in cage] Let them go.

Radu:
As you wish.

Rebecca:
Okay, Michelle. Let's get outta here.

Radu:
Take them, Fledgling. Let there be a bloodbath.

Rebecca:
Come on, Michelle we're leaving.

Michelle:
Kill me, Becky.

Rebecca:
No. Get out of the way, Michelle.

Michelle:
Please. End this nightmare. [takes gun from Rebecca]

Radu:
[sees Michelle point gun at herself] No!

Rebecca:
Michelle don't!

Radu:
No, Michelle! You're mine!

Radu:
Give it to me and I shall set you free!

Rebecca:
You want it? [throws Bloodstone off of castle wall] Go for it!

Rebecca:
What's it say?

Mel:
Oh, man. This is some wild stuff. A-According to this legend, the castle was originally owned by this family of sorcerers, until this uh, Vladislas guy came along and seduced the daughter, [flips pages] Cerce. She gave birth to the monstrous Radu. And, then, apparently, Vladislas murdered most of the family off, drove the rest of them from the region, and claimed the castle as his own.

Rebecca:
This Vladislas sounds like a ruthless character.

Mel:
Uh, no. Apparently, he was the good guy.

Bob:
What's the target here?

Mel:
We gotta get inside. You think we can make it up this wall?

Bob:
Give it a shot.

Mel:
Good. Uh, you got the stuff?

Bob:
Kind of weird stopping this, buddy. What are we vampire hunting? It's your show, man. I'm just doin' a cameo.

Mel:
This body bag light-tight?

Bob:
A hundred percent opaque. Woah, woah, woah, Lieutenant. Night viewing device. Don't wanna mess with it in daylight. You're gonna love this. Silver bullets. Melted down from my neighbor's antique crucifix. You're over five hundred bucks, pal.

Mel:
Five hundred bucks?

Bob:
[referring to Rebecca] She started out asking seven fifty.

Mel:
Nice work, Bob.

Bob:
Hey, man, it's my pleasure. [referring to gun clip] This makes six rounds each. That's if we're all participating. Ma'am? You know how to use it?

Rebecca:
Yeah, I think I can handle it. [points gun at Lieutenant Marin]

Lieutenant Marin:
No,no,no,no. [motions for Rebecca to point gun away]

Mel:
Are you with us, Marin?

Lieutenant Marin:
Okay. But, don't tell anyone the boss, okay?

Bob:
Ma'am?

Rebecca:
Rebecca.

Bob:
Yes, ma'am.

Rebecca:
What are you doing?

Mel:
I'm goin' up. Bob and I are old rock climbing buddies. You a climber?

Rebecca:
Nuh-uh.

Mel:
We'll find a way to get ya in.

Rebecca:
Be careful.

Mel:
Don't worry.

Bob:
[to Mummy] Hands up, Granny!

Rebecca:
Michelle? Michelle.

Michelle:
Don't come any closer, Becky.

Rebecca:
Come back with me, Michelle.

Michelle:
I can't. I have to stay here.

Rebecca:
You're so cold. You're-You're dead.

Michelle:
You have to go now, Becky.

Rebecca:
Not without you.

Michelle:
Please! [referring to Radu] Or he'll destroy you too.

Rebecca:
What about my friend?

Michelle:
He's Radu's prisoner.

Rebecca:
Please, take me to him.

Radu:
[creeps up behind Rebecca] Such a sweet pretty one.

Rebecca:
Marin?

Radu:
He's dead.

Rebecca:
to release my friends and then Michelle and I are leaving, and you better not try and stop us. Do you understand?

Radu:
Perfectly.
