Banded together from remote galaxies are thirteen of the most sinister villains of all time, The Legion of Doom, dedicated to a single objective: the conquest of the universe. Only one group dares to challenge this intergalactic threat: The SuperFriends! The Justice League of America versus The Legion of Doom! This is the Challenge of the SuperFriends!

Narrator:
Paris, France, where each day millions of people travel on the metropolitan subway.

Green Lantern:
It sure is nice to take a vacation in Paris as Hal Jordan. No one would ever guess that I'm actually Green Lantern.

Green Lantern:
Great galaxies!

Robin:
Holy pharaohs, of course! The pyramids of Egypt.

Robin:
Holy confusion, Batman!

[last lines]

Superman:
Not only did this book tell us the Legion of Doom took control in 3984. It also mentioned they were captured shortly afterwards by the SuperFriends.

Robin:
Holy foul play, Batman!

[opening narration]

Narrator:
Thousands of miles from land in the vast Pacific Ocean, the world's largest nuclear-powered aircraft carrier, the U.S.S. Dauntless, circles the globe.

[first lines]

Captain Parkhouse:
Our reconnaissance mission is complete, Admiral Hubbard. We're ready to return to Pearl Harbor.

Apache Chief:
Inuk-chuk!

Cheetah:
It looks like diamonds are a villain's best friend. Purr! Purr!

[last lines]

Superman:
This should teach the Legion of Doom a lesson: never keep your eggs all in one basket, even if they are hard-boiled.

Robin:
Holy abominable spaceman!

Robin:
Holy Hall Of Doom!

[opening narration]

Narrator:
Deep beneath the dangerous waters of an unknown sea, an infamous submarine silently travels on its well-known journey.

[first lines]

Nemo's Sailor:
Holding steady on course 288, Captain Nemo.

Robin:
Holy science fiction, Batman!

Wonder Woman:
Great wings of Mercury!

Superman:
Great Scott!

Robin:
Holy Houdini, Batman! There's no way to get out of here.

Robin:
Holy short stories, Batman!

[last lines]

Wonder Woman:
It looks like our story has a happy ending after all.

Superman:
Not from the Legion of Doom's point of view. Maybe next time they'll learn that it's no fairy tale when they challenge the SuperFriends.

Robin:
Holy time clocks!

[opening narration]

Narrator:
Deep within the boundaries of their treacherous swamp, the Legion of Doom is in session once again, formulating sinister plans that will threaten the entire Earth.

[first lines]

Gorilla Grodd:
I'm tired of these unimaginative plans for wealth and power. Have I joined the Legion of Doom, or the Legion of Fools?

Lex Luthor:
Silence, Grodd, or you'll find out just how evil this Legion can be.

Robin:
Holy icebergs! San Francisco is frozen solid.

The Flash:
Great wings of Mercury!

Aquaman:
Great Neptune!

Robin:
Holy multiple emergencies!

Green Lantern:
There's no sign of Sinestro.

Sinestro:
That's because I'm over here, Green Fool! I was hiding in the antimatter universe of Qward.

[last lines]

Lex Luthor:
I've always got another ingenious plan up my sleeve. You'll never catch the Legion of Doom.

Superman:
Maybe for now, Luthor. But we will catch you. You'll never escape justice as long as there are SuperFriends.

Robin:
Holy impenetrability!

[opening narration]

Narrator:
Deep within their bleak and dismal bog, hidden beneath its swampy waters, lies the sinister headquarters of the Legion of Doom.

[first lines]

Toyman:
That's absurd! You'll never convince me that there is one single source of all evil power.

Black Vulcan:
Great lightning!

[the lava monster has grabbed Superman]

Superman:
His grip is like an oven of liquid rock.

Robin:
Holy H2O, Batman! A water monster!

Wonder Woman:
Great Hera!

Batman:
Great Gotham!

[last lines]

Green Lantern:
They'll be back and with another sinister plan.

Batman:
And that one will fail, too, as long as they fight against justice and the SuperFriends.

Robin:
Holy cut communications, Batman!

[opening narration]

Narrator:
Deep within the jungle lowlands of equatorial Africa, along the winding Congo River, an incredible city of advanced super-apes rests peacefully behind the protection of an invisible force field.

[first lines]

Gorilla Grodd:
I'll show these foolish apes they can't banish Grodd and get away with it. Gorilla City will soon be mine!

Robin:
Holy meteor showers!

Robin:
Holy "gorilla" warfare!

Batman:
My batarang balloon will stop him!

[last lines]

Wonder Woman:
Well, at least we taught them one thing. No matter who they unleash their ruthless schemes on, the SuperFriends will be there to stop them.

[opening narration]

Narrator:
Deep beneath the cover of the murky swamp, the sinister Legion of Doom prepares to unleash another incredible plan.

[first lines]

Black Manta:
I don't care what your newest scheme is, Luthor. I'm going to take care of the SuperFriends my own way.

Scarecrow:
Oh, no! It's the Green Lantern.

Lex Luthor:
No, fools, it's only me, the Green Luthor.

Robin:
Holy Hall of Doom, Batman!

Samurai:
Tmei Ningen!

[last lines]

Wonder Woman:
It may be time that helped free the Legion of Doom today, but it will be time that gives us a chance to catch them tomorrow.

Robin:
Holy discoveries, Batman!

Robin:
Holy explosions, Batman!

[first lines]

Wonder Woman:
I can't believe he's really gone.

Aquaman:
Great Atlantis!

[last lines]

Superman:
And now that the Legion of Doom is under control, the SuperFriends can finally rest in peace.

Narrator:
Days earlier, before terror struck the SuperFriends...

[view pans from the Hall of Justice to the Mood Oil Co. next door]

Narrator:
...a nearby oil well housed an unimaginable threat!

Green Lantern:
The best way to defend is to attack!

Batman:
Great Gotham! I've only got a fraction of a second!

[opening narration]

Narrator:
Deep within the deadly, uncharted regions of the swamp, a frightening form skulks amongst the equally frightening creatures.

[first lines]

Cheetah:
There's that old witch again, prowling through the swamp.

Robin:
Holy creeping vines!

Robin:
Holy night stalkers! Those zombies are after us.

[last lines]

The Flash:
There seems to be no way to predict what those with evil minds will do.

Superman:
Except for one thing, which is easy to predict: their constant fight against justice and the SuperFriends.

Robin:
Holy trouble alerts!

Robin:
Holy reckless driving, Batman!

[first lines]

Wonder Woman:
Batman, the Manta ship is hot on my tail.

Apache Chief:
Great God!

Superman:
This is a job for Superman!

[last lines]

Robin:
After all the injustice they've spread throughout the galaxy, maybe we should have let Vartoo punish them.

Wonder Woman:
I don't think so, Robin. Vartoo's brand of justice only creates more injustice. Besides, the Legion of Doom did get one form of punishment. They'll always remember they lost when they challenged the SuperFriends.

Robin:
Holy vanishing point!

Cheetah:
Never let it be said that the Cheetah was afraid to cheat!

[opening narration]

Narrator:
Somewhere within the boggy mists of their treacherous swamp, the sinister Legion of Doom prepares to engage in another battle for world conquest.

[first lines]

Bizarro:
Me have plan destroy SuperFriends. Then Legion of Doom be ruler of Earth.

Batman:
Quick, Robin! The electronic Bat-Hoist.

Robin:
Holy jailbreaks!

Sinestro:
My power ring hypnotizes computers as well as people, you stupid machine!

Robin:
Holy miscalculations!

Bizarro:
Me rule now! Government of Bizarro, by Bizarro, for Bizarro.

[last lines]

Lex Luthor:
You caught yourself a big decoy, not the Legion of Doom.

Superman:
Maybe not this time, Luthor. But at least we've proven that the Giants of Doom are no match for the Giants of Justice.

[first lines]

Sooba:
I wonder what happened to this planet.

[last lines]

Superman:
Don't bother trying to figure it out, Luthor. Sometimes, when you're on the side of justice, things just seem to go your way.

[opening narration]

Narrator:
Deep beneath the bleak and dismal water of their vast, remote swamp, sinister plans are in the making by the ever-scheming Legion of Doom.

[first lines]

Bizarro:
Me tired always lose to SuperFriends. Me go home to Bizarro World where everything backwards. There, losing equal winning.

Lex Luthor:
Silence, Bizarro! Or you'll be the one who loses.

Robin:
Holy stone carvers, Batman! They're stealing the head of George Washington!

Samurai:
Kaze no Y ni Hayaku!

Batman:
[to Robin] Use your Bat-lube!

Robin:
Holy vanishing acts!

[last lines]

Green Lantern:
We'll take care of them in the future and any other time they try to spread their injustice in the domain of the SuperFriends.

Robin:
Holy time travelers, Batman!

Robin:
Holy statue nabbers, Batman!

Robin:
Holy lion tamers, Batman!

[opening narration]

Narrator:
Deep within a bleak and dismal bog, the wild swamp creatures are not alone, for beneath the murky waters, the Hall of Doom houses wild creatures of an even more sinister nature.

[first lines]

Solomon Grundy:
Solomon Grundy tired of stupid plans. Take care of SuperFriends myself... and crush them!

Lex Luthor:
It won't be long now before Toyman does some toying of his own with our three SuperFriends.

The Riddler:
[to Batman] Brilliant deduction, bat-brains!

Robin:
[reacting to the Riddler's riddle] Holy mind-benders!

Robin:
[reacting to an avalanche] Holy tremors!

Robin:
[realizing the team is destined for Orion] Holy constellations, Batman!

Black Vulcan:
Put me down, you oversized mechanical infant!

Scarecrow:
We're so wealthy I can afford to stuff myself with money instead of straw.

[last lines]

Batman:
I've got a riddle for you, Riddler. What has thirteen heads and belongs in a cage, won't learn its lessons and worsens with age?

The Riddler:
Um, I give up, Batman.

Robin:
It's simple, Riddler. The Legion of Doom.

Superman:
And next time, you won't get away.

[opening narration]

Narrator:
In the foothills above Metropolis, at the Astro Chemical Research Plant, four of the SuperFriends cautiously guard the incredible contents of the fortified complex.

[first lines]

Batman:
Radar scan is negative. Readings indicate there's nothing in the sky for 100 miles.

Robin:
[reacting to the sudden appearance of crows] Holy aviaries, Batman!

Robin:
[reacting to the attacking crows] Holy dive-bombers, Batman!

Robin:
Holy mistrials! We're innocent.

Batman:
Quick, Robin! The Bat-Resin.

[last lines]

Batman:
Right, Superman. And maybe someday they'll realize that they'll never win their battle against justice, or the SuperFriends.

Robin:
Holy intruders, Batman!

Robin:
Holy teleportation, Batman!

Robin:
Holy mud holes, Batman!

[opening narration]

Narrator:
Deep within a bleak and dismal swamp, hidden beneath its murky waters, lies the headquarters of the most sinister villains of all time: The Legion of Doom.

[first lines]

Lex Luthor:
The meeting will come to order. The Legion of Doom is now in session. It is the purpose of the Legion to align our infamous forces against the powers of good and defeat them, leaving us the rulers of the world. To do this we have gathered together the thirteen most ruthless villains on earth: the frigid Captain Cold; the sinister mind of Sinestro; the awesome Bizarro and Solomon Grundy; the cunning Cheetah and the super-intelligent computer android Brainiac; Black Manta and Grodd the Gorilla; the Toyman and the humorous but sinister Riddler; the feminine yet ferocious Giganta and the hideous Scarecrow; not to mention the evil genius and brilliant leadership of myself: Lex Luthor.

The Flash:
It started with an incredible dream I had last night.

Superman:
No more strange, I'm sure, than the one I had. I dreamt I robbed Fort Knox.

Batman:
That's interesting. I dreamt Robin and I looted the U.S. Mint

Robin:
Holy coincidences, Batman! I had the same dream.

Hawkman:
It seems we all had criminal dreams last night. But when we arrived at the Hall of Justice this morning, we discovered something that turned our dreams into nightmares.

Batman:
But, Chief, with all of the SuperFriends in jail, there'll be no one to stop the world's crime

Bizarro:
[removes mask and laughs] Batman guess right. But him not guess me Bizarro with Luthor device to change voice.

Black Manta:
It's time for us all to go to the Hall of Justice and turn it into the Hall of Injustice!

Narrator:
Can the SuperFriends escape before they collide with the sun? Will the Legion of Doom succeed in taking over the world? Stay tuned and see in the exciting conclusion of: The Challenge of the SuperFriends!

Robin:
Holy hotfoot, Batman! We're getting closer to the sun.

Batman:
At the rate we're traveling, we've only got a few minutes left.

Superman:
And without the use of my muscles, my super-strength is useless!

The Cheetah:
With Luthor's brilliant mutation device hooked up to the SuperFriends' computer, the Justice League satellite will beam its rays all over the world.

Bizarro:
Turn all Earth people into Bizarros and Cheetahs.

The Cheetah:
And all of them working for our evil purr-poses.

Batman:
Alfred!

[Alfred enters with a mutated face]

Alfred Bizarro:
Alfred Bizarro to be exactly. Now me got little surprise for you.

[Batman and Robin are tied up in the Batmobile, which is about to go over a cliff]

Robin:
Holy Houdini, Batman! We'll never get out in time.

[Bizarro has wrapped a steel girder around Batman and Robin]

Robin:
Holy metallurgy, Batman! We're trapped.

[Batman releases an object from his utility belt that expands and traps Bizarro]

Batman:
What's the matter, Bizarro? Can't even punch your way out of a plastic bag?

[last lines]

Lex Luthor:
We're already back at the Hall of Doom planning our next sinister mission. And this time, nothing will stop us.

Superman:
Give it up, Luthor! You've failed this time, and you'll fail every time you try to triumph over justice - and the SuperFriends!
