Dream Cypher explores the mind of Ilawan, a young teenager. In his room, events and objects cause him to reflect on issues of identity, family, love and spirituality. He imagines these dilemmas through various forms of performance art. Through his inner journey, Ilawan discovers the answers to his own questions.Dream Cypher showcases a talented cast of emerging San Francisco Bay Area local artists. This multimedia Hip Hop theater production utilizes elements of live music, poetry, dance, song and digital video. Parts of the narrative are written by the playwrights, however all actors have written and performed their own poetic pieces.
