Dead Rising 2

Dead Rising 2

Dead Rising 2 is an action-adventure video game developed by Canadian company Blue Castle Games, published by Capcom, and released between September and October 2010 for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Microsoft Windows. It is a sequel to Dead Rising, and is the second entry in the series of the same name. The game features a number of new features and improvements to its predecessor, including multiplayer options. The game's story see players controlling Chuck Greene, a former motocross rider, who finds himself at the centre of another zombie outbreak taking place in a casino resort and shopping complex in Nevada, and becomes involved in uncovering the truth behind it. Not only must he survive against the zombies roaming the complex by scavenging weapons and supplies, along with rescuing survivors caught up in the incident and dealing with crazed psychopaths, Chuck must also ensure that his young daughter receives regular treatments of a medication that prevent her from becoming a zombie herself, after being bitten by her mother during a previous outbreak in Las Vegas. Like the previous game, players must complete major missions to advance the story, but can undertake optional tasks and explore the complex, with various endings available depending on actions taken during the main game. The game's success led to it receiving two downloadable episodes - one being a prologue to the main story, the other taking place moments after achieving its canonical ending - along with a remake entitled Dead Rising 2: Off the Record, while as part of the Dead Rising's ten year anniversary, a remastered version of the game was released in September 2016 for PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.

Newscaster:
[On the TV] I have been told that we have received a broadcast from our field reporter. Rebecca Chang who is inside Fortune City.

Rebecca Chang:
It is clear that the outbreak started in the Fortune City Arena, during last night's "Terror is Reality" show. Information received from a behind the scenes source reveals that this outbreak was not an accident, but rather an act of terrorism.

Rebecca Chang:
This shocking footage was obtained from a source inside the Fortune City Arena. The site of the Terror is Reality game show. It may be upsetting to some viewers.

Rebecca Chang:
Initial reports suggest that the man in the video is former motocross champion - Chuck Greene.

Chuck Greene:
What?

Rebecca Chang:
Greene, a member of the zombie rights protest group CURE, was a contestant in tonight's pay-per-view game show. Acquaintances describe Greene as a known drifter, who was still angry over his wife's death in the Vegas outbreak. This horrible act of terror appears to be an escalation of violence for the protest group.

Rebecca Chang:
This is Rebecca Chang - reporting live from the Fortune City Hotel, in the heart of Fortune City.

Chuck Greene:
What? That's complete bullshit! That was not me!

Stacey Forsythe:
Did you have something to do with this?

Chuck Greene:
No way. Not on your life. My daughter and I barely got out of that arena alive. What possible reason would I have to do something like that?

Stacey Forsythe:
Why are they saying you're part of CURE?

Chuck Greene:
I went to one meeting. Once. After I lost my wife. Look, I don't know what the hell is going on here, but I'm being set up.

Stacey Forsythe:
I think I know why. It's not the first time members of CURE have been falsely accused of being involved with an outbreak. We were in town, protesting that awful show you were on.

Chuck Greene:
Do you believe me?

Stacey Forsythe:
I don't know what to believe... but you sure don't seem like a terrorist. And I know we weren't involved.

Chuck Greene:
Look, we have three days before the military rolls in. That's how much time I have to prove I'm innocent. The reporter - the one at the hotel. The tape she had - it's a complete fake. She said she had a source - whoever that is must know more. I need to find out where she got it.

Stacey Forsythe:
She said she was in the hotel. I'll keep an eye on your daughter. I won't say anything to her. I don't want her to worry.

Rebecca Chang:
[a shot is fired, and the zombie collapses] You need to pay attention out here, buddy.

Chuck Greene:
Thanks.

Rebecca Chang:
Rebecca Chang. Channel 6 Action News.

Chuck Greene:
[Chuck begins to move to shake Rebecca's hand, hesitating] Chuck Greene.

Rebecca Chang:
[Rebecca looks at Chuck's hand] Are you serious? From the security video?

Rebecca Chang:
I thought you'd be long gone by now. But since you're sticking around... care to answer a few questions?

Chuck Greene:
I'm not your story, lady, I didn't have anything to do with the outbreak.

Rebecca Chang:
Right. Sure you didn't. And that tape showing you tampering with the cages was...

Chuck Greene:
A fake. I had nothing to do with this. My daughter and I barely got out of there alive.

Chuck Greene:
I need to know where you got that tape from... and who your source is.

Rebecca Chang:
Reporters don't reveal their sources, Chuck. That's privileged information.

Chuck Greene:
Privileged my ass. That wasn't me on the tape. I'm being set up.

Rebecca Chang:
Hmm... Why should I believe you?

Chuck Greene:
You don't have to. But you want the big story, right? Help me out and I'll give you an Interview.

Rebecca Chang:
With the prime suspect? It has to be an exclusive.

Chuck Greene:
Sure. It doesn't matter to me.

Rebecca Chang:
I can't tell you my source. But there is a central security room. There'll be footage of everything that happened there. I can show you where it is.

Chuck Greene:
Well, that's a start at least- Aren't we going to need your crew?

Rebecca Chang:
They ran off. With all the equipment. I guess they just didn't want it bad enough.

Raymond Sullivan:
I should have known you two were in cahoots the first moment you set foot in this place! You've caused nothing but trouble.

Stacey Forsythe:
CURE is innocent! It's a setup!

Raymond Sullivan:
After you put this whole bunker at risk, you expect me to believe that?

Chuck Greene:
[Open the door] Hey!

Raymond Sullivan:
Oh, well, lookie here. Man of the hour - Chuck Greene. I shoulda listened to my gut and kicked you out when you got here. Explain how that little trick works.

Chuck Greene:
Sullivan, I have nothing to do with this.

Raymond Sullivan:
I saw it on the TV. Saw YOU, buddy.

Chuck Greene:
That wasn't me on the tape- It was someone in my show outfit. Look I don't care whether you believe me or not. I've got 3 days till the military gets here to prove that I'm innocent. I'll hand myself over if we haven't got any proof by then. I'm just asking for a fair shot.

Rebecca Chang:
Ahem - you could have told me that the front door was locked...

Raymond Sullivan:
Hey, you're that TV lady. I'll make you a deal. You keep rounding folks up, you can keep coming and going. You die out there and we'll have to leave it to the devil to sort you out

Raymond Sullivan:
But ain't no one gonna cover your ass when the military arrives. You pull anything - anything - and I'll do whatever I have to do.

Rebecca Chang:
Aha, What was that all about?

Chuck Greene:
He watches too much TV.

Stacey Forsythe:
Tell me you found something.

Chuck Greene:
We went to central security, but somebody got there before us. Everything was smashed. All the tapes were gone.

Chuck Greene:
Hey - no footage of my daughter.

Rebecca Chang:
Stacey - I'm Rebecca Chang. Channel 6 Action News. I'm here to help.

Stacey Forsythe:
Oh. You'll forgive me if I don't think it's very helpful that you accused my organization of a crime we didn't commit.

Rebecca Chang:
Look, I don't know what's going on here, but clearly things are not as they seem. I put out the information I had at the time.

Chuck Greene:
Remember, you can have all the exclusives you want, if you help us figure out what's going on here.

Rebecca Chang:
Works for me. Whether you're innocent - or guilty, I just want the truth.

Stacey Forsythe:
Thanks for the vote of confidence. But okay, we'll work together. I'll keep an eye on these monitors.

Rebecca Chang:
And I'm going back out there to see what I can find out.

Stacey Forsythe:
I'll let you know if I see anything.
