ABC News obtained one of the most extraordinary historical documents ever released. It is only a few days after the assassination of President Kennedy. Lyndon Johnson has just assumed the presidency and, understandably, he is obsessed with learning as much as he can about the murder of his predecessor and with finding a way to control how that information reaches the American public. One of Johnson's primary sources of information is the director of the FBI, J Edgar Hoover. Imagine that you were able to eavesdrop on the conversation between Hoover and Johnson. That is precisely what the Johnson Library in Austin, Texas has done. The library released recordings of President Johnson's telephone conversations for the period of November 22nd, 1963 to November 30th of the same year, allowing us to have an ear to history.
