Golden Boy

Golden Boy

In these final episodes, Tokyo University Law School dropout and self-proclaimed free spirit Kintaro Oe continues bicycling his way through Japan learning different jobs and surprising the experts with his insights. He defeats an Olympic star swimming instructor by showing her a more humane approach to teaching children and outraces a beautiful motorcyclist when the brakes fail on his bike. The last episode in this goofy series is an outrageous spoof of the Japanese animation industry. Kintaro begins as a production administrator trainee/gofer but saves the day when the studio risks missing a crucial deadline. He calls in the women he helped (and lusted after) in previous episodes and rallies the artists with his boundless enthusiasm. As Kintaro's enthusiasm is matched only by his libido, it's all very silly and often crass, with his visceral reactions digitally disguised. Rated 17 Up: Nudity, violence, profanity, sexual and toilet humor. --Charles Solomon
