Rikki Chadwick:
Zane Bennett is a pig. I take a chance to get under his skin any time I get one.

Rikki Chadwick:
We'll draw straws and decide which one of us the others will eat.

Emma Gilbert:

Rikki Chadwick:
I'm relieving the tension.

Cleo Sertori:
You're making it worse.

Louise Chatham:
Don't ever talk to sea-perch. You never can trust those fish.

Emma Gilbert:
Aunt Thea, your skirt, did you steal our picnic rug?

Byron:
[Emma grabs his but and he turns around to see Cleo] Cleo, nice to see you too.

Cleo Sertori:
Uh, thanks.

Byron:
Thanks for last night. You have the worlds best lips.

Emma Gilbert:
[spits out drink] Lips! My lips? What's he talking about? Guys?

Rikki Chadwick:
Emma may look tough but she's easily hurt.

Emma Gilbert:
You've got a lot of hair in your nose there, Harrison. That's a real forest.

Rikki Chadwick:
I never liked pool parties anyway.

Rikki Chadwick:
How did the test go?

Lewis McCartney:
Well, according to the test, you are a seven-year-old German shepherd.

Rikki Chadwick:
I was wondering when you would figure out it wasn't my real hair.

[repeated line]

Lewis McCartney:
It's complicated.

Cleo:
There are more important things than seeing how long you can hold your breath for and frolicking with the dolphins.

Rikki:
I don't frolic! I glide!

Rikki Chadwick:
[Rikki had been unsympathetic after Cleo's fish had died. She tried to make up by getting Cleo a new fish, but wasn't even aware that Cleo keeps only salt-water fish] Cleo, look, I'm sorry. I didn't know about the salt-water thing. I should have, but I didn't. What can I say?

Cleo Sertori:
That's okay. I know you're not good with the whole empathy thing.

Rikki Chadwick:
Yeah, well, it's... you think?

Cleo Sertori:
Oh yeah.

Rikki Chadwick:
You mean I'm self-centred?

Cleo Sertori:
No, it's just that other people's feelings aren't really on your radar. But I'm not complaining. Sometimes I think I'm too worried about other people's feelings.

Rikki Chadwick:
Yeah, maybe.

Cleo Sertori:
But I know you mean well, Rikki. That's the main thing.

Rikki Chadwick:
This is a change. You're not gonna ask me... where I've been? Who I've been with? What color bra I'm wearing?

Lewis McCartney:
Just out of curiosity, what color...

Cleo Sertori:
Lewis!

Lewis McCartney:
[Rikki gets knocked out in the water and Zane brings her to shore] OK, we need to warm her up. Keep her head to one side.

Cleo Sertori:
Come on, Rikki

Emma Gilbert:
[Lewis has something in his hands] whats that?

Lewis McCartney:
OK, these are smelling salts, back up, they really stink. [he puts them in front of Rikki's nose]

Emma Gilbert:
Wake up

Cleo Sertori:
Wake up. It's not doing anything!

Zane Bennett:
Please Rikki.

Emma Gilbert:
Please Rikki.

Lewis McCartney:
Come on.

Rikki Chadwick:
[Rikki frowns, starts to wake up ] Lewis, you've... you've really got to do something about your breath.

Emma Gilbert:
You didn't tell him anything about the locket, did you?

Rikki Chadwick:
Well, I told him that it was the same as Cleo's, and that I wanted it... and that we're mermaids... Kidding!

Louise Chatham:
[talking about Rikki] So like Julia... I always thought the best way was to ignore her moods. And I often carried a tennis racket - came in very useful.

Lewis McCartney:
Rikki, if I get fat, it is your fault.

Cleo Sertori:
[on phone] Lewis, is there something you want to ask me?

Lewis McCartney:
[on phone] Yeah. I was a bit embarrased to ask you infront of the other girls but...

Cleo Sertori:
[hangs up phone] He wants a sample of my earwax.

Cleo Sertori:
You are so devious, Zane.

Zane Bennett:
You say that like it's a negative.

Bev Sertori:
Cleo's got a boyfriend.

Kim Sertori:
But she's so... ugly.

Cleo Sertori:
I can't help thinking about what that old woman said. 'Beware the full moon... '

Rikki Chadwick:
We're Mermaids, not Werewolves!

Cleo Sertori:
You like her, she likes you, fine. You can't even get her out on a date.

Rikki Chadwick:
And that's pathetic.

Ash:
Ah, all right, smart guys, what do I do?

Rikki Chadwick:
First of all do not listen to her, she has no idea what's good for her.

Cleo Sertori:
Lewis, what do you think of Rikki?

Lewis McCartney:
You know those stonefish, that kind of look like a rock, yet can shoot enough poison to kill an entire football team in half a second? She kind of reminds me of one of those.

Rikki Chadwick:
[Bella is talking with Rikki, as Will and Sophie walk in and sit down] That's her.

Isabel Hartley:
You know, I'm going to say something.

Rikki Chadwick:
Wait...

Isabel Hartley:
No, you were right about him.

Will Benjamin:
Bella, I was just going to see you...

Isabel Hartley:
I know what you two were doing, Will, I saw you. And... I'm disappointed. I can't believe you lied to me to be with someone else. I thought maybe there could have been something between us.

Will Benjamin:
[Tries to explain] Bella, ah...

Isabel Hartley:
[Interrupts] No! Don't try to squirm out of it. I thought you were different.

Will Benjamin:
You did?

Isabel Hartley:
Yes! But it just turns out that you're like all the other guys: selfish, lying, immature, two-timing...

Sophie Benjamin:
...and, he's my brother.

Isabel Hartley:

Will Benjamin:
Yeah.

Sophie Benjamin:
That's right. I think you've made some kind of mistake.

Isabel Hartley:
Oh. Right. I guess, [laughs at her own foolishness] I guess I have. [Bella turns and walks to the far end of the juice bar, and puts her head down]

Emma Gilbert:
[Zane caught a glimpse of Emma's mermaid tail in the previous episode. He made a drawing of what he saw and gave a copy to Lewis, who in turn showed it to Emma] Oh no, my tail.

Lewis McCartney:
See? That's why I hang around with you guys, 'cause all the other girls at school are like, "Oh no, my makeup."

Emma Gilbert:
Oh no... My tail!

Lewis McCartney:
See! That's why I hang around with you guys; 'cause all - all the other girls at school are like, 'Oh no! My make-up!'

Emma Gilbert:
We've only got a few days, So I think we should go with the most developed idea, which is mine.

Cleo Sertori:
You have an idea already?

Rikki Chadwick:
Cleo, This is Emma we are talking about.

Emma Gilbert:
I think the film should be called "My mother"

Rikki Chadwick:
Sounds, riveting, a thriller?

Emma Gilbert:
Heroes aren't always pumped up superfreaks, who fly through the air, Rikki. And besides, real heroes like my mum aren't always seen on the screen.

Rikki Chadwick:
And theres a reason for that.

Cleo Sertori:
Don't you think a whole three minutes on your mum might be a little...

Emma Gilbert:
What?

Rikki Chadwick:

Cleo Sertori:

Rikki Chadwick:
Self-indulgent?

Cleo Sertori:

Rikki Chadwick:

Lewis McCartney:
Amazing.

Harrison Bennett:
Not exactly the word I'd use. I've been at the juice bar hosing Wilfred down for two hours. He was about to go to the police.

Zane Bennett:
It's your windsurfer, not his.

Lewis McCartney:
Okay, maybe we should've asked, but this footage is fantastic. It'll make a great film.

Zane Bennett:
You can't do that.

Harrison Bennett:
I sponsored that competition. You think I want my son on public view looking like... that?

Zane Bennett:
There was a 20-foot shark out there, Dad! There were heaps of them!

Harrison Bennett:
Did you see anything?

Lewis McCartney:
Well, um...

Harrison Bennett:
I didn't think so. Zane created this charade because he knew he couldn't really break my record. Now get rid of that.

Lewis McCartney:
No, no, no, no, no. I shot this footage; that disc belongs to me! It's mine.

Rikki Chadwick:
[about Lewis] Forget it. He's a pod person now

Lewis McCartney:
I've figured out what's happened to Cleo; she's a Siren. Just like the mermaids in mythology, their singing lured sailors to their deaths.

Lewis McCartney:
[Emma and Rikki look at him] I hope this wont' be quite that bad.

Cleo Sertori:
[Cleo and Rikki are experimenting with some gravity-defying water, and are wearing raincoats in the house for that reason. They're expecting Bella any minute. Cleo answers a knock at the door] Bella! Come in... you should see...

Will Benjamin:
[Cleo is surprised when Will enters] Sorry, not Bella. But I am looking for her. We're doing this assignment together? Why are you wearing a rain coat?

Cleo Sertori:
[Stuck for an answer] Well it might rain.

Will Benjamin:
Inside?

Cleo Sertori:
Okay. That... that... that is unlikely.

Cleo Sertori:
Lewis, I hate fishing.

Lewis McCartney:
You what?

Cleo Sertori:
I do. I'm sorry. I mean at first it was a nice way to spend time together, but it's not romantic. I'm a mermaid. If I want a fish, I can just go grab one. Sorry.

Zane Bennett:
[Rikki is sitting by the beach waiting for Zane. She checks her watch, and gets up to leave. Zane arrives] Rikki, what's wrong?

Rikki Chadwick:
That thing on your arm... what is it?

Zane Bennett:
This?

Rikki Chadwick:
Yes.

Zane Bennett:
It's a watch.

Rikki Chadwick:
And what do people normally use watches for?

Zane Bennett:
You're mad because I'm late.

Rikki Chadwick:
The boy's a genius.

Zane Bennett:
Did anyone ever tell you you're cute when you're mad?

Emma Gilbert:
Did he... you know... see anything?

Rikki Chadwick:
Other than when I, flashed him?

If they break it, pick it all up and throw it at 'em. No one wants an unusable heart.
