Mark Scott:
Henry, were you a bonus player?

Hank Aaron:
No, Mark. The only thing I got was a paper suitcase that fell apart in the rain! [Both laugh] That's the only thing.

Mark Scott:
Well, you've made up for it since!

Al Kaline:
[Talking about Hank Aaron] You know, I heard some pitchers talking about how all pitchers get together, and they say "Don't ever pitch to the Aaron outside, he might knock you off the mound!"

Mark Scott:
Bob, what weight bat do you generally swing?

Bob Cerv:
I usually stay 36-inch length, and I go with a 36-, 37-, 38-weight.

Mark Scott:
Wally, I'm curious. What kind of a bat do you use? What weight?

Wally Post:
Well, this is a 33-ounce Louisville Slugger.

Duke Snider:
This contest here should show people that it's not as easy to hit home runs as they think it is!

Mark Scott:
When the Dodgers play the Cubs, you see just about enough of Ernie Banks, don't you?

Gil Hodges:
We certainly do. He's usually passing me at first base, Mark. He doesn't stop there too often.

Mark Scott:
Pop up! That would be a Home Run in an Elevator Shaft!

Mark Scott:
[Talking about a swing by Earnie Banks] Seems to be swinging a bit late.

Mickey Mantle:
Well, his timing's probably not down real good. I know he can hit a lot better than that. He's liable to get it in the next inning, too. Or yet, this inning before it's out!

Mark Scott:
You know, that's the wonderful thing about baseball. The game is never over till that last man is out!

Mark Scott:
Well, Frank, that one you hit was really socked.

Frank Robinson:
Well, Mark, when you hit them that good, I'd like to be able to cut it up and make 2 home runs out of it!

Mark Scott:
Frank, in this era of big bonuses for ball players, did you recieve one?

Frank Robinson:
Are you kidding? They didn't even give me transportation fare. They drove me to where I was going to play!

Mark Scott:
Henry, it didn't take long, the first swing out of the ball park!

Hank Aaron:
Well, I just got lucky with a little wind behind me.

Mark Scott:
[Pointing to the flag in Centerfield] Henry, just take a look at that flagpole. That wind is not blowing one little bit!

Hank Aaron:
Well, it was just blowing a teeny bit.

Mark Scott:
It couldn't have been blowing that much, just a couple of seconds ago!

Mark Scott:
I don't know if the cameras are picking up our rain or not, but it's comin' down, isn't it?

Ernie Banks:
It's coming down pretty good!

Mark Scott:
Jim, I noticed that you don't stride at all. You have your feet planted out there, and you just swing from that position.

Jim Lemon:
Well, I've been sort of experimenting with that stance.

Ken Boyer:
[Watching Harmon Killebrew hit a long fly ball that goes barely foul] Missing those kind will make you say words you're not supposed to say!

Mark Scott:
[as Ken Boyer returns to the Press box after a close Home Run ball] Well, did you think that ball might have been foul?

Ken Boyer:
No. To tell you the truth a man gets a little nervous in these things. I really don't know what I was thinking about, but I guess I'm human.

Mark Scott:
I guess you are! And you're out in front by a score of 3 to 2.

Mark Scott:
Yep.

Ken Boyer:
[Returning to the Press Box after taking the lead in the top of the 9th inning] You don't mind if I sit here with my fingers crossed, do you?

Mark Scott:
No, that's all right. I wonder what's going through Harm's mind right about now?

Mark Scott:
[commenting on a ball hit by Willie Mays] That was long enough! It was high enough! It just wasn't straight enough! And there is one away!

Mark Scott:
High pop up. Look out, Mickey, that's coming right near us!

Mickey Mantle:
It'll hit the cameraman.

Mark Scott:
No, missed everybody! And that's all for Mays!

Mark Scott:
May I see your bat for a moment, Rocky?

Rocky Colavito:
Sure, Mark.

Mark Scott:
[examining bat] I saw you looking... [He notices a chip in the bat] Well, what's this?

Rocky Colavito:
Well, that's chipped a little bit, Mark.

Mark Scott:
Why do you use it?

Rocky Colavito:
That's a three in a row job. I'm not gonna change that now!

Mark Scott:
[Handing the bat back to Rocky] And they tell you that ball players aren't superstitious!

Rocky Colavito:
Oh, nothing like that!

Mark Scott:
Nothing like that.

Mark Scott:
[Discussing the $500 bonus for hitting three home runs in a row] Willie, You've had another chance at that $500 Bonus

Willie Mays:
You know what, Mark? Every time you say that, I hear it in my ear. Just do me a favor. Don't say it again when I have two, will ya?

Mark Scott:
[raising Arm, as if being sworn in] I promise I won;t say it. You gonna hit the third one, then, for me?

Willie Mays:
I hope so, Mark

Mark Scott:
You'll be swinging, that's for sure!
