Honerva the Witch:

King Raimon:
Daibazaal, I don't know if you think this means you rule the Great Dark Nebula, but you don't!

Emperor Daibazaal:

Raible the Strategist:
[Raible, Fala, and the five earth men enter King Raimon's tomb] I enter, my king.

Princess Fala:

King Raimon:
[Raimon's spirit appears] Welcome to this place. For the past fifteen years, I've waited earnestly day after day for nothing but a ray of light to penetrate this darkness. That light is the light of the kingdom of Altea's restoration!

Raible the Strategist:
My king! That light has come, together with five brave heroes!

King Raimon:
I feel chagrined.

Raible the Strategist:
My king! These five heroes swear to pilot Golion, defeat Daibazaal, and restore the kingdom of Altea!

King Raimon:
I beg you, brave heroes! [Vanishes]

Narrator:
This is a story handed down throughout the universe of a legendary giant robot. It isn't clear who built this giant robot of legend. Due to its having the heads of five space lions, at some point it was named the King of Beasts, Golion. [Golion fights and slays several giant space-borne creatures] No enemy could stand before Golion, finally it recklessly challenged the Goddess of the Universe to battle.

The Space Goddess:
Golion, why can you not control your own power? Why do you not try to use that power for peace in the universe? Know that those who overestimate their own power shall he undone by it! [Smites Golion into five pieces which are then hurled across the cosmos]

Narrator:
Several thousand years have since passed...

Narrator:
[Alien slaves get slaughtered as they fight a large monster in an gladiator arena] Slaves brought to the Galra Empire are made to battle Deathblack Beastmen, and only those who survive are permitted to live. They're imprisoned in Slave Castle and rebuilt themselves before long into Deathblack Beastman combatants, the defeated become food to be devoured by the Beastmen.

Dying Slaves:

Tsuyoshi 'Hothead' Seid?:

Hiroshi 'Shorty' Suzuishi:

What happened while we were away from Earth?

Akira 'Chief' Kogane:

Princess Fala:
[a strange red rain falls on Altea] I've never seen rain like this. It's so pretty and red, like strawberry juice.

Raible the Strategist:
Princess, it seems like a far cry from strawberry juice, this is human blood.

Princess Fala:

Princess Fala:
Beginning with my father, King Raimon, my mother, and my whole household was killed by Daibazaal. I hate him for all the people he took from me; that Daibazaal, who's like a demon. Those fifteen years, I've heard from Raible the fate of my family and I swore revenge against Daibazaal. He must be defeated.

Hiroshi 'Shorty' Suzuishi:
So we had to end up on a freaky planet.

Takashi 'Quiet' Shirogane:
It's still better than ending up in Hell.

Isamu 'Moody' Kurogane:
