Johnny Jupiter

Narrator:
This is the story of Ernest P. Duckweather, who invented the strangest television in the world. On this set he could look through endless space, six hundred million miles away, to far-off Jupiter. In a Jupiterian television station he found three friends: Johnny Jupiter, a human, more or less; Major Domo, chief of the robots; and Reject, the factory-rejected robot who was able to appear and disappear at will. Soon Duckweather found that he could turn to the Jupiterians for help whenever he was in trouble.

Narrator:
Once upon a time on the far off planet Jupiter lived two strange creatures; strange in looks, but with a wisdom far greater than our own - well, you can't expect them to be perfect. Each day they searched the universe for signs of intelligent life, but alas, they found none. Instead they settled for the planet Earth.

Katherine Frisby, Duckweather's Girlfriend:
Penny for your thoughts.

Ernest P. Duckweather:
I was just thinking about you and me, Kathy.

Katherine Frisby, Duckweather's Girlfriend:
Oh? What about you and me?

Ernest P. Duckweather:
Well, we've known each other for such a long time, I wouldn't be a bit surprised if one day, you and me... this is going to sound silly to you, Kathy.

Katherine Frisby, Duckweather's Girlfriend:
Oh no, not at all.

Ernest P. Duckweather:
One day, you and me were walking down the aisle...

Katherine Frisby, Duckweather's Girlfriend:
Yes, go on!

Ernest P. Duckweather:
...of the first rocketship to outer space.

Ernest P. Duckweather:
Duckweather on Earth calling planet Jupiter! Duckweather on Earth calling planet Jupiter!

Dexter Spiegelmacher:
My boy, there's an old Spiegelmacher slogan for occasions like this: no riches, no speeches.

Ernest P. Duckweather:
Mrs Clandish was as pleased as punch and Mr. Frisby got all the credit for making the lecture a big success.

Johnny Jupiter:
Didn't you get any credit, Mr. Duckweather?

Ernest P. Duckweather:
Well, only with Kathy, Johnny, but shucks, that's all I care about.
