Little Johnny Jet

John:
[looking at his son] Hey! No propeller.

Mary:
John, uh, he's a jet plane.

John:
[crying out in despair] *A JET*! JETS! JETS! I CAN'T STAND JETS!

[repeated lines]

John:
Mary.

Mary:
John.

Mary:
[as John lines up with the jets at the contest, she arrives on the scene and begs him not to do it] John! Listen to me, John! [as she's doing this, Junior gets out of the buggy and gets into the fuselage of John] Listen to me, John! [John shoves her away defiantly, then we cut to her looking into the empty buggy] Junior? [She looks over at John to see Junior smiling and waving from his cockpit] [In horror] JUNIOR!

[first lines]

Mary:
[seeing a depressed John land in the hangar] Any luck today, John?

John:
No, Mary, same as yesterday. I went to every airport in town, and they just don't have any use for an old, burned-out B-29.

Mary:
Nonsense. [she and John kiss] You can fly as well as any of those newfangled airplanes. Did you tell them of your wonderful war record? [John looks at a portrait of himself as a proud, well-decorated war plane] A hero of ninety missions over the Pacific?

John:
Yeah. I even showed them my purple heart. [suddenly upset] But all they want nowadays is jets, jets, jets!

Mary:
Now, now, John, watch your oil pressure.
