Lou and Lou: Safety Patrol

[first lines]

Mom:
Lou, Louise, it's bathtime! Now, who wants to go first?

Louise:
[pointing to Lou] He does!

Lou:
[pointing to Louise] She does!

Louise, Lou:
Louie does!

Lou:
Safety Patrol!

Louise:
We wanna make sure everything's safe for bathtime.

Mom:
You do, huh?

Lou:
It's our job.

[last lines]

Lou:
We're the Safety Patrol.

Louise:
And we're here to keep people safe, and clean.

[first lines]

[Louie brings Lou his badge]

Dad:
Good work, Louie.

Dad:
Hey, Lou and Lou. Come on! You're keeping me and your sister working.

[last lines]

Dad:
Cell phones can be a distraction to drivers too.

Dad:
Good work, Safety Patrol.

Lou:
We're the Safety Patrol.

Dad:
We're here to keep people safe.

Louise:
Never eat or pick a wild berry or mushroom or anything else you might find growing outside unless a grownup says it's okay.

[first lines]

Dad:
There, we're all set with the tent.

Lou:
And we're all moved in.

Lulu:
Neat. How about a hike, dad?

Dad:
Sounds like fun.

Louise:
Let's keep it safe.

[last lines]

Louise:
Hey, you guys. I think I see a bear on the dock.

Lulu:
[offscreen, as a rabbit, not a bear, is shown] That's a rabbit.

Louise:
We're the Safety Patrol.

Lou:
And we're here to keep people

Louise:
and dogs

Lou, Louise:
safe!

[first lines]

Dad:
OK, kids. We're almost ready for the first annual Safety Patrol pool party and barbecue.

Lou:
We brought the pool safety equipment.

Louise:
And the sunscreen. And the first-aid kit. You should always have these around the pool.

Mom:
Good work, Safety Patrol.

[last lines]

Louise:
No running around the pool. You could slip on the wet ground and get hurt.

[watches as Louie runs and slips on a puddle, catches him]

Lou:
Nice catch, Lou.

Louise:
That's Louise.

Lou:
We're the Safety Patrol.

Louise:
We're here to keep people safe.

Lester:
I love field trips.

Louise:
Have you ever been on a field trip before?

Lester:
Ummm... no.

Lou:
Talk to your parents about what you need for *your* emergency supply kit.

[first lines]

Lou:
Wow, Mom. You're really thirsty.

Mom:
No, kids. These are just in case.

Louise:
In case what? You get really thirsty?

Mom:
No, Louise. I'm putting together an emergency supply kit.

[last lines]

Louise:
[holding a stuffed bunny] Don't forget Louella.

Mom:
[chuckles] It wouldn't be whole without Louella.

Lou:
Hey, Louie has a go bag too.

Mom:
That's right. Always remember your pets in your emergency planning.

Lou:
We're the Safety Patrol.

Louise:
We're here to keep people safe.

[Louie barks happily]

[first lines]

Lou:
Aw, we can't go on patrol today. It's raining outside.

Louise:
That's okay, Lou. We can play Safety Patrol tomorrow. Let's go have a snack.

Lou:
Safety Patrol. Freeze, Lulu.

Lulu:
Again? What now?

Lou:
Can you figure out Lulu's safety violation?

[last lines]

Louise:
We should never leave our toys on the floor...

Lou:
...or anywhere else where people might trip over them.

Louise:
We're the Safety Patrol!

Lou:
And we're here to keep people safe.

Louise:
Even on a rainy day.

[first lines]

Lulu:
[whispering] Psst. Mom. Mom. Mom.

Mom:
What's wrong, Lulu?

Lulu:
Nothing. It's dad's birthday and we wanna make him breakfast. Safety Patrol over here won't let me use the kitchen without a grownup.

Lou:
Because it's a safety violation.

[last lines]

Lulu:
[referring to a dropped sausage] It looks like Louise cleaned it up before we could. We're the Safety Patrol.

Louise:
And we're here -

Lulu:
[mussing Lou and Louises' hair] to keep people safe.

[first lines]

Dad:
Whew.

Lou:
Dad, when will mom and Lulu be finished shopping?

Dad:
Soon, Lou. Girls like shopping.

Louise:
I'm a girl and I don't like shopping.

Dad:
Well, if you're anything like your mom, you will, honey. [chuckles] You will.

Lou:
Police officers wear uniforms.

Dad:
And they have badges.

Lou:
Only their badges aren't made out of cardboard, like ours.

[last lines]

Dad:
Let's go, kids.

Lou:
Is someone lost?

Dad:
Nope. Well, not unless someone lost his appetite. Mom and Lulu are meeting us at the ice cream shop.

Louise:
Yay!

Lou:
Yeah! We're the Safety Patrol.

Louise:
We're here to keep people safe.

Lou:
And eat ice cream.

[first lines]

Lou:
Dad, when's the bus gonna get here? I can't wait to see the monkeys!

Dad:
Be patient, Lou. The bus should be here any minute. Stay on the sidewalk while you're waiting, kids. That's the way to be safe.

Lou:
Where are you going?

Lester:
Uh, I don't know.

Lou:
That's a safety violation, Lester.

Lester:
That doesn't surprise me.

Louise:
You should always know where you're going when you're riding on a bus.

[last lines]

Lou:
[imitates monkey noises] That's a big "hello" from Mr. Flickner. We're the Safety Patrol.

Louise:
And we're here to keep people safe - especially on the bus.

[first lines]

Lou:
Now, Louie, you ready to sniff out safety violations?

[Louie barks]

Lou:
Good.

Louise:
You know what to do, Louie.

[last lines]

Lou:
Our work here is done. We're the Safety Patrol.

Louise:
We're here to keep people safe.

Lou:
Do you know what a 602 is?

Girl:
No.

Lou:
Me neither, but put some air in that tire.

[first lines]

Lou:
Water?

Louise:
Check. Soap?

Lou:
Check. Now we're ready to wash the SPV.

Louise:
The Safety Patrol Vehicle.

[last lines]

Lou:
A bandage keeps a boo-boo

Louise:
or an "owie" clean and safe.

Lou:
We're the Safety Patrol.

Louise:
We're here to keep people safe.

Dad:
Kids, aren't you forgetting something?

Lou:
We are?

Louise:
I thought we covered everything.

Dad:
You forgot to kiss it and make it better.

Louise:
Oops.

Lou:
Oh, right.

[both kiss Dad's injury]

[first lines]

Louise, Lou:
It's snowing!

Lulu:
I'm going next door to Robin's! Bye!

Lou:
[mumbles incoherently through his scarf]

Lulu:
What?

Louise:
Not so fast, sister. Safety violation!

Louise:
Can you find the safety violation, partner? That's right. Lulu isn't dressed for cold weather. If you're going outside to play in cold weather, you should wear your jacket and plenty of layers to make sure you stay warm and dry.

[last lines]

Lou:
We're the Safety Patrol.

Louise:
And we're here to keep people safe!

Lou:
Even on a snowy day!

[first lines]

Lulu:
[humming, looking at herself in a mirror] Princess Lulu, glad to meet you.

Louise:
Da da da da! Louise to the rescue! With her sidekick, Louie.

Lou:
We're gonna be the safest superheroes at the costume party.

[last lines]

Lou:
So, Mr. Flickner, how long have you been a pirate?

Mom:
We're...

Dad:
and Dad...

Mom, Dad:
and we're here to keep the Safety Patrol... safe.

[first lines]

[Louie barks]

Louise:
What's that, Louie? You smell trouble?

Lou:
I see the problem. Up ahead.

[last lines]

Lou:
Louise, why did that chicken cross the road?

Louise:
I don't care. Just as long as she did it safely.

Lou:
We're the Safety Patrol.

Louise:
And we're here to keep people safe.

[first lines]

Lou:
Is that the fire drill?

Louise:
That's the alarm clock.

Louise:
You should never hide if there's a fire.

Lou:
'Cause help won't be able to find you.

[last lines]

Louise:
Isn't it great how Louie likes to help people?

Mr. Flickner:
Yeah, I know. He's helping himself to my hot dogs.

Lou:
We're the Safety Patrol.

Louise:
We're here to keep people safe.
