Mystery of the 13th Guest

Grandfather Morgan:
I suppose you're all wondering why I left my sickbed to play host to this little family gathering. The reason is, I have a great deal to tell all of you. First - and, no doubt, this will be good news to you - my doctors tell me I haven't very long to live.

Police Lt. Burke:
From now on I'm gonna call you Sitting Bull.

Speed Dugan:
Oh, thanks, chief. You know what I'm gonna call you?

Police Lt. Burke:
I'm not interested. Let's go.

Police Lt. Burke:
I don't get it. This house has been closed for thirteen years, still the phone's connected and the lights are on.

Speed Dugan:
I bet they got a big bill by now, huh?

Johnny Smith:
Burke, you ought to have that mind of yours dry cleaned.

Police Lt. Burke:
And while I'm at it, I'll have your conscience pressed.

Aunt Lucille:
Marjory! If you say that word again, I'll disown you.

Marjory Morgan:
What a loss.

Marie Morgan:
Marjory, dear, your soul must look like the inside of a vinegar bottle.

Johnny Smith:
And as my friend Lt. Burke so elegantly describes it, the murderer intends to line the table with stiffs.

Aunt Lucille:
How vulgar!

Marjory Morgan:
Thank goodness I was under the table most of the time.

Marjory Morgan:
Family reunion? We'd all cut each other's throats for a dime.

Harold Morgan:
Why a dime? I'd cut yours for fun.

Johnny Smith:
Maybe you're right - and that's' unusual too, for you.

Marie Morgan:
If I'm gonna be treated like this, I'll get killed every day.

Police Lt. Burke:
And there was Barksdale, stiff as a board, sittin' in the same chair that he sat at that Morgan dinner thirteen years ago. Now, what do you make of it?

Johnny Smith:
Maybe he came back for his dessert.
