Mark Walters:

Dr. Maniloe:

Mark Walters:
Yeah, um... Didn't you get kicked out for some reason?

Dr. Maniloe:
No... I left of my own accord.

Mark Walters:

Mark Walters:
Mister Maniloe, I...

Dr. Maniloe:
Doctor Maniloe, if you please. I hate being a mister...

Mark Walters:
Okay so, you're a doctor now... Mmhmm. A doctor of what?

Dr. Maniloe:
Thinkology.

Dr. Maniloe:
Do you play video games, Mark? Come on, a lad your age, of course you do.

Mark Walters:
Um... sure, yeah...

Dr. Maniloe:
Have you ever heard of a game called Portal?

Mark Walters:
Um... no.

Dr. Maniloe:
Oh, it's a fantastic game! You'll love it! It's essentially you have to travel between these environments, and in order to do that, you need to use your portal, which can take you from one point in space and/or time to another, and you use this throughout the game in order to overcome all the brilliant obstacles that one could imagine you would have when playing a video game. But anyway, essentially, uh, it's uh... it's uh... like uh...

Mark Walters:
It's like a puzzle?

Dr. Maniloe:
Puzzle! Exactly! Love that word! It's worth quite a few points in Scrabble as well. You don't play Scrabble, of course, though, do you?

Mark Walters:
Alright, look: I can't even take a piss. What is this?

Dr. Maniloe:
Well we certainly don't want you to pee your pants now, do we, Mark? So it's up to you to solve the puzzle.

Mark Walters:
What's in the sheet?

Dr. Maniloe:
Don't... touch that.

Mark Walters:
Why? What is this stuff?

Dr. Maniloe:
It... it's... it's personal, Mark. Please...

Mark Walters:
Well, do you mind if I take a look?

Dr. Maniloe:
Mark, please, just no, trust me.

Mark Walters:
Too bad, I'm taking a look.

Dr. Maniloe:
Hey, now.

Mark Walters:
And who's this?

Dr. Maniloe:
That's my wife.

Mark Walters:
Yeah? Is she... around?

Dr. Maniloe:
That's my wife. Get your hands off my wife. Alright? She's dead. Okay? Do you need anything more? I mean, please, just stop touching my stuff!

Dr. Maniloe:
It's trapped. And you're trapped. My darling, the attempt to successfully test portals has failed. All it took was someone else acting on faith to reach in and pull the subject from the void. Simple, really. And it made me realize that death is the ultimate portal, and the reason I've tried to create them for years, was to try to reach you, my beloved. I miss you. I wonder if it's all possible for someone to reach across the void of death and pull you free. At any rate, it's back to the drawing board for me, my love. I miss you. Love always...
