Jordi Palacios:

Kara Souders:
We die alone, but that doesn't mean we need to live alone.

Leo Roth:

Kara Souders:

Dr. Jack McAndrew:
Jordi, I admire your courage...

Jordi Palacios:
Balls. I prefer balls.

Leo Roth:
[to Charlie] Hey. This is for you. I didn't wanna say the reason why up on the roof in front of everyone. When I was having my big surgery, you spoke to me. You know, when I was under anesthesia, and you said something that only tonight I've become to understand. You said, "Luck isn't getting what you want. It's surviving what you don't want." And man, I'm surviving. [puts a red bracelet around Charlie's wrist] I only hope that I can be half the man you are, my friend.

Jordi Palacios:
You never answered my question. When I asked how much it hurts.

Leo Roth:
Okay, it does hurt, but not in the way you think it will. They give you awesome painkillers for the physical pain. What hurts most is... is not that-that it's gone. What hurts, is... is remembering that it was ever there. But then, with time, that memory stops hurting too.

Jordi Palacios:
I won't be me anymore.

Leo Roth:
You will be you! You will always be you. You might even be more you.

Jordi Palacios:
How?

Leo Roth:
Because, and I'm gonna let you in on a secret now, because your body is you, your soul is you. And they could never cut into your soul.

Charlie:
[voice over] Everyone thinks that when you go to a hospital, life stops. But it's just the opposite: Life starts.

Charlie:
Luck isn't getting what you want. It's surviving what you don't want.

Charlie:
[voice over] In order to appreciate how other people might be feeling, you have to be able to understand your own feelings. And that gets tricky, especially since most kids my age work hard to pretend they don't have any feelings. Feelings just aren't cool, unless you're in a coma, like me. In which case feelings are all you've got.

Jordi Palacios:
You're the kid in the coma.

Charlie:
Yeah, unfortunately that has become my most identifiable characteristic.

Charlie:
[about Emma] She is one smart cookie. Too bad she won't eat a cookie.

Leo Roth:
Home doesn't have to be what you once were, or what you did, or where you're from. Home might just be the feeling you get around the people that care about you the most. And if that's the case, you might already be home.

Dr. Naday:
The fact is, sometimes you do meet someone the day before Valentine's Day, and it is weird, and it is awkward, but it just becomes part of the story of how you met. If you don't take a chance, there is no story. The whole thing just ends. Here.
