Sidney Reilly:

Cummings:

Sidney Reilly:

Cummings:

Cummings:

Sidney Reilly:

Fothergill:
[Thoughtfully] No, except no woman's worth it.

Sidney Reilly:
Worth what?

Fothergill:
The guillotine. Contrary to popular belief "crime passionelle" is a capital offense in France.

Sidney Reilly:
[Referring to D'Arcy] He's going bankrupt. He needs money.

Cummings:
[With exasperation] We have brought the money.

Sidney Reilly:
It's not enough.

Cummings:
[Exasperated] Not enough? We have just crossed the English Channel with a quarter of a million pounds sterling, and he tells me it's not enough!

Sidney Reilly:
We're up against the richest men in Europe. They spend that on a dinner service.

Grammaticoff:
[With detached curiosity] Did you ever watch a man blow his brains out, Sidney.

Sidney Reilly:
Yes, once.

Grammaticoff:
Will you come over here and tell me if this one's doing it right? He's got the telephone in one hand, revolver in the other, and no one in the room is paying the slightest attention to him.

Sidney Reilly:
Still, it disappoints me that people of this quality can talk business over table.

Grammaticoff:
There is only one thing these people don't do over a table, and that they do under it.

Sidney Reilly:
How are you feeling?

Count Massino:
[With an apparent hangover] I have a head like a foot.

Count Massino:
[to Sidney after several vodkas] Meanwhile, if you would convey me to the Ministry of Marine, I should be most grateful. I mean I'm perfectly capable of walking a straight line. It's turning the corners that might prove difficult.

Zaharov:
[as he is leaving out the door] You know, you've restored my faith in human nature. Lately I had begun to doubt that every man has his price... but now I see it's just a matter of currency.

Sidney Reilly:
[Asking about Margaret] Where is she?

Grammaticoff:
At the Nevsky Street Police Station. My friend Gregor Yankov has her in custody. She asked for a bottle of gin and the British ambassador - in that order.

Lenin:
Child, I would dine with the devil if I thought it would safeguard the Revolution.

Lockhart:
Reilly, when I first met you, I thought you either a madman or a crook, and now I'm convinced you're both.

Sidney Reilly:

Grammaticoff:

Orlov:

Margaret:
May I ask what you expect to find?

Inspector Tsientsin:
Incriminating documents, I think, to relate to his espionage activities.

Margaret:
Why do you think my husband is a spy?

Inspector Tsientsin:
All foreigners are spies... especially those who work for transportation companies.

Sidney Reilly:
It's a bad situation, Colonel, but I don't see why we shouldn't make money out of it.

Dzerzhinsky:
As far as the world is concerned, you're dead. I emphasize this because I don't want you to hold out any hope that you're going to get out of here alive, and I want to spare you any unnecessary suffering that prolonged resistance to interrogation will bring.

Sidney Reilly:
I appreciate your concern. Beating someone to death can be counterproductive.

Trilisser:
Only the unskilled allow that to happen. You will not be so fortunate.

Sidney Reilly:
[Bruised and bleeding] I need a doctor.

Dzerzhinsky:
I've already explained the situation to you. Your time on this earth is limited.

Dzerzhinsky:
[Reilly audibly scoffs] It's important that it's used to our advantage. You must realize that you are now our instrument.

Sidney Reilly:
It would be a mistake to let me die.

Dzerzhinsky:
[to Trilisser] Get him a doctor.

Margaret:
Sidney often plays dead, you know. It's his way of getting out of things.

Cummings:
[Referring to her bigamous marriage to Sidney] You asked, if I remember correctly, if I would give you away, and I replied that I had never given anything away.

Pepita:
Until now.

Cummings:
[about Sidney] I want to know if he has defected. It's a matter of honor.

Krassin:
[Chuckling] When people like you talk about honor, I look to my neck.

Cummings:
My dear fellow, you would be well advised to do so.

Sidney Reilly:

Army officer on the Trust:
How?

Sidney Reilly:
Rob banks.

Army officer on the Trust:
The banks have no money.

Sidney Reilly:
Then sell art treasures.

Army officer on the Trust:

Sidney Reilly:
Then you must mke a decision. Are you interested in the past or the future?

Stalin:
You have so much power, Felix. You don't have to do anything to undermine my power. You merely have to exist.

Dzerzhinsky:
You question my loyalty?

Stalin:
I want you to demonstrate it... by arresting Sidney Reilly.

Stalin:
Power is power. It's the one element of the human condition you can't fake.

Schulz:
[to Pepita] Is Sidney at home?

Sidney Reilly:
[Appearing] Yes, he is.

Cummings:
Damn and blast Sidney Reilly!

Nadia:

Savinkov:
When you talk about Russia, you talk about the fate of the world.

Sidney Reilly:
You know, Basil, one of these days we may find ourselves on opposite sides, and I will take great pleasure in denting your self-esteem.

Zaharov:
[Although his first reaction is to take the remark in jest, he becomes serous when he realizes that Sidney is serious] I look forwrd to that, dear boy.

Zaharov:
[to Sidney as he walks into his train compartment] It seems that all roads lead to Hamburg these days.

Glass:
