Will You Survive Until the End?
The Final Chapter

Reporter:
Welcome back. We're live with Bobby Dagen, whose national tour, "Survive: My Story of Overcoming Jigsaw," rolls into town this weekend. Now, you're quite the national phenomenon these days, aren't you?

Bobby Dagen:
Well, thank you, Pam. It's quite flattering how many people have responded to my story and if I can help a few people along the way, then I'm pleased.

Reporter:
Now, you survived a trap created by the infamous Jigsaw Killer. Correct?

Bobby Dagen:
Yes, ma'am.

Reporter:
Well, everyone must ask you this question: what was that like?

Bobby Dagen:
[pause] Life changing. It was something I never anticipated. Quite honestly, something that should've killed me.

Reporter:
Tell me more. Tell me about the actual experience.

Bobby Dagen:
I-I-I actually have no recollection of how I got there. I just remember the feeling of waking up trapped. I had to insert two hooks into my pectoral muscles and hoist myself up to a platform.

Reporter:
You put the hooks in yourself?

Bobby Dagen:
I did. I pretty much realized I couldn't hold on much longer, and I had to accept the fact that I was going to die. And then I saw something. And what I saw was my life. It was... it was a tragedy. I achieved nothing. Right then. Something inside me started to grow, something from the bottom of my soul and, I just - I decided to live. I found the strength I'd long thought had expired, and I just yanked, and I yanked, and when I got to the top, I just ripped the hooks out of my chest. It was-it was- there was blood everywhere and I just screamed. I just sat there and screamed. Because I hadn't just survived. I was reborn. This was my life!

Bobby Dagen:
Sidney, look at me. You made a decision. How did that make you feel?

Sidney Harris:
Free. He was abusive. I tried to stop it before, but it wasn't until that moment that I really did something. It was him or me and I chose to live. It was the best thing that ever happened to me.

Simone:
That's a bunch of bullshit. He had to die for you to leave him? You know the best thing that happened to me after having to cut off my own arm is handicapped parking at the damn mall! What the hell is a camera here for, anyway?

Bobby Dagen:
I am simply here to illustrate the fact that a traumatic experience such as the kind that each one of us have been forced to endure can have a positive outcome. That's all.

Simone:
Yeah. Like what?

Bobby Dagen:
A new perspective on life. [she starts to say something] Wait! [stands] I know. I understand that you're not that place yet. I understand and I respect that. But you look around at all these people, taking their lives for granted. Eventually they all found something positive in their experience. We should never be ashamed of what we've gone through. Because we're good and we are strong! [begins unbuttoning his shirt] You know what? I'd like everybody to look at something. Right here. [opens his shirt, revealing two scars across his chest] These are my scars. Because our minds will heal, but these scars will never go away. This scar should not be a symbol of shame. It should be worn as a badge of courage. You know, eariler, I... spoke of valuing your loved ones. But to be perfectly honest, it was something I never did prior to my ordeal. But since then, I have found someone who has truly become my rock. Joyce, if you could... [she comes up to him] Please. This is my lovely wife, Joyce.

Joyce Dagen:
I love you. [kisses him]

Bobby Dagen:
I love you, too, baby.

Lawrence Gordon:
[clapping] Bravo. To be able to sustain such a traumatic experience and, uh, and yet find the positive in that grisly act. It's a remarkable feat indeed. [stands, and approaches the group] Remarkable. If not a little perverse. I'm sure I speak for everyone here when I say how grateful we are to be a part of your... promotional... DVD. [claps mockingly; the group joins in]

Bobby Dagen:
Joyce!

Joyce:
Bobby! I knew you'd make it. I knew you'd find me.

Bobby Dagen:
I'm so sorry.

Joyce:
I knew you could do it!

Bobby Dagen:
[runs down the platform] I just got to get you...

Joyce:
Get me out!

[Bobby grabs one of the wires surrounding Joyce, which shocks him and knocks him backwards]

Joyce:
Bobby! There's got to be another way!

[Billy appears on a TV]

Tape:
Hello, Bobby. You have almost completed your rebirth. However, your final task will be your most difficult. The woman before you symbolizes your success. She is your trophy, and she has seen the good in your message, despite its dishonest beginnings.

Joyce:
What's he talking about?

Tape:
Today, we will see if you can truly earn her love.

Joyce:
Bobby?

Tape:
To prove your status as a survivor, you must overcome a game that should be all too familiar. You supposedly survived it once already, so it should be easy to survive once again. Pierce the hooks through your chest muscles and the game will begin. In order to free yourself and your wife, you must hoist yourself with these chains and connect the extension cords above you before the clock expires. Both hands will be needed to complete this task, but that should be simple. For, as you claimed to understand, the pectoral muscles can easily support your weight. So I ask you, Bobby: when you embrace every day as if it is your last, will it be with your wife? Make your choice.

Joyce:
What's he talking about?

Bobby Dagen:
[holding one of the chains] Baby, I'm so sorry. I lied. I was never in a trap.

[Hoffman is attacked by two people in pig masks. A third jams him in the neck with a syringe. As Hoffman collapses, the third reveals himself as Dr. Gordon]

Mark Hoffman:
What the f***?

[Flashback]

[Jill delivers an envelope to Dr. Gordon's office. He opens this, finds a videotape inside, and plays it]

John Kramer:
[on tape] Hello, Dr. Gordon. You are perhaps my greatest asset.

[John finds Gordon passed out in a hallway after cauterizing his foot and drags him away]

John Kramer:
[splashes water from a pipe on him] Congratulations, Dr. Gordon. You survived.

[John dresses Lawrence's stump and fits a prosthetic foot onto it]

Tape:
Without you, my work over the last few years would not have been possible.

[Lawrence sews the key behind Michael's eye]

Lawrence Gordon:
[shows John a picture of Dr. Denlon] Dr. Lynn Denlon. Jeff's wife. She'll be perfect.

[Lawrence sews Trevor's eyes shut]

Trevor:
My eyes! I can't see!

[Lawrence writes the note Hoffman found in Saw V]

[Present]

Mark Hoffman:
F***...

[Hoffman tries to grab Lawrence, but he shoves him away with his cane]

[Flashback]

Tape:
That having been said, I have a request. Watch over Jill, and should anything happen to her, I want you to act immediately on my behalf. In return for that...

[Present]

[Lawrence turns on the lights to the bathroom]

Tape:
[Narrating] I will keep no more secrets from you. I've showed you a lot of places, but there is one that will be perhaps the most meaningful to you.

[Hoffman wakes and realizes he is chained to a pipe. He reaches for a hacksaw, but Lawrence pulls it away and picks it up.]

Lawrence Gordon:
I don't think so.

[He throws the hacksaw out of the room]

Mark Hoffman:
What do you think you're doing? [Lawrence turns to leave] What the f*** do you think you're doing?! Huh?!

[Lawrence briefly glances at his decayed severed foot, then faces Hoffman and shuts off the lights]

Mark Hoffman:
No! You can't f***ing do this to me! F*** you! No!

Lawrence Gordon:
Game over! [shuts the door]

Mark Hoffman:
No!
