Interactive play is crucial to infant development and, like most infants, young puppet Eebee loves to learn by doing with the help of his animated caretaker Kristy. Eebee explores everyday objects like rice, crumpled paper, a cardboard box, and a variety of balls by touching, waving, pushing, and ripping to explore ideas like cause and effect, taking turns, and pre-math skills like more and less, empty and full, and big and little. Kristy is the ever-enthusiastic playmate, following Eebee's lead by noting Eebee's interest, offering encouragement, making simple games out of materials at hand, and putting the concepts being explored into words. Music abounds in the background and in songs with lyrics written by the show's producer. Footage of real infants interacting with the same materials as Eebee is interspersed throughout the program to demonstrate how children from 6 to 24 months might react and learn in similar situations.
