Abel McCracken:
Dan, why did you come?

Dan Harder McCracken:
To prove the things they said about my brother weren't true.

Abel McCracken:
[Listening to the natives dancing] They have a dance for everything. Birds... death... sickness. That's how they solve their problems. What about us, Dan. Dance is not going to help us much, is it?

Dan Harder McCracken:
Come on back with me, Abe.

Abel McCracken:

Dan Harder McCracken:
Listen to me, Abe. I've saved a little money. We can hire a lawyer, doctors. We can plead insanity.

Abel McCracken:
Insanity? Insanity, is it? [Grabs a rifle] Do you see these? These guns? So long as I have them, well, one bullet, with these hands, I'll fight to keep alive. Aye, there's madness for you. I'll soak this country in blood, Dan. But, by heaven, Abel McCracken is gonna live.

John Gale:
That donkey could have cost Andolo his life.

Dan Harder McCracken:
That's right. He did a pretty decent thing. Did you have to rob him of his dignity?

John Gale:
No much dignity in a corpse.

John Gale:
What's the matter with you?

Andy Marion:
Nothing.

John Gale:
C'mon. What are you sore about?

Andy Marion:
Well, I did help you. I ran out and yelled.

John Gale:
Yeah, well, look partner. I don't want you getting the idea I'm not grateful. As a matter of fact, you sort of save my life. You're a bold man. But I want you to remember on thing. There are old men and there are bold men... But there are no old, bold man, understand?

Andy Marion:
What about you, Mr. Gale?

John Gale:
Well, I guess I'll have to take that as kind of a compliment.

Peggy Marion:
It's so hot.

John Gale:
There's open country up ahead. We may get a little breeze.

Peggy Marion:
How about a nice Canadian blizzard?.

Dan Harder McCracken:
[after they captured a Nugumbi native] Did you get anything out of him?

John Gale:
He'll take us to McCracken.

Peggy Marion:
How do you know you can trust him, John?

John Gale:
Well, I think he has a great desire to stay alive.
