The Devlin Connection

Brian Devlin:
Certain things in our universe are fixed and absolute: the Sun always rises in the East; parking meters are always set to give an edge to the meter maid. And sons never phone. My son, Nick, hasn't called for two days. The handbook for new parents says you're supposed to give a son his head... not to worry... particularly when that son is twenty eight years old. But I'm new at this - so I worry.

I didn't realize you had so many teeth. [looking at his smiling son]
