The Penalty

Blizzard:
Fate chained me to evil, for that I must pay the Penalty. - That is a great puzzle. Perhaps I am going to see it solved.

Blizzard:
Don't grieve, dear - death interests me.

Blizzard:
You have worked in the dark long enough - this is the plan I have been developing for two years.

Blizzard:
At twelve noon on that day I shall loot the City of San Francisco.

Blizzard:
Your ten thousand foreign malcontents will filter into the city in small detachments.

Blizzard:
The signal will be an explosion.

Blizzard:
By fire and riots I shall draw the police and military into the suburbs.

Blizzard:
The heart of the city will be left defenseless - ours to loot at will.

Blizzard:
And then we shall vanish with our treasure.

Barbara Ferris:
Why do you live in the underworld?

Blizzard:
When Satan fell from Heaven he looked for power in Hell.

Older doctor:
Good God, you should not have amputated!

Dr. Ferris:
[No title but clearly mouthing the word] What?

Older doctor:
You have mangled this child for life!

Lichtenstein:
Rose, this detail I'm offering you is dangerous - I hope you'll turn it down.

Blizzard:
[to his white slaves] By the way, Barbara Nell, who strayed from us, now sleeps on a marble slab.

Lichtenstein:
A woman who enters that door risks more than death.

Rose:
It's all in a day's work.

Blizzard:
[to Barbara] Some excellent judges think that I resemble Satan.

Blizzard:
[to Barbara] Laughter burns a cripple like acid.

Blizzard:
Better come out of that closet or I'll start shooting. [Rose comes out, crying] Crying won't help, talking might.

Rose:
What's the use? You're just going to kill me.

Blizzard:
As you can see, you haven't been allowed to do too much damage.

Rose:
I think I'm glad.

Blizzard:
Why?

Rose:
Don't you see? [they embrace] Master!
