You're a fine figure of a man, Vint Bonner.

Vint Bonner:
[speaking in narration] I guess that's what's wrong with having a reputation. Always some young gun just itching to sharpen his spurs on your hide.

Sheriff:
I guess some heifers just ain't choosy about the pastures they roam.

Hiram Grover:
I'm gonna get well if it kills me.

Vint Bonner:
[speaking of Sheriff Riker] You don't like him any better than I do.

Tony Molinor:
No, he's not a very likeable fellow, but his fists, they command respect.

Vint Bonner:
[Closing narration] It's surprising how little people really know about one another. Even those who are bound by the closest of bonds. Brothers, a husband and wife, or a father and son like Wade and Ted. It takes a little more effort to see the good in people than it does the bad. But it's worth it.

Vint Bonner:
Well, I make it a point never to argue with a man who's got a gun in my throat.

Vint Bonner:
No one really thanks a sheriff for all the things he does.

Vint Bonner:
A pound of caution is worth an ounce of lead.

Clague:
[to Vint Bonner] I'd like to take you on sometime, mister. Any style.

Vint Bonner:
[in narration] Some days it just doesn't pay to get out of bed.

Mary Blackwell:
Look, I didn't come all the way up here to listen to a cowhand insult me.

Vint Bonner:
[Discussing Ted's idolizing of Marlowe] Kids got the longest memories. Even after you'd gone, he'd still want to be like you.

Rare Marlow:
Well, he can't! I want my son to do better than a gambling tramp like me! [Throws his whiskey glass to the floor, where it shatters]

Vint Bonner:
Nobody's got any use for broken glass. Same thing is true of broken idols.

Gopher Martin:
The Lord cooks in strange pots.
