The Young Girl and the Monsoon

Constance:
My mom told me that my dad was doing an assignment in like, um, Rwanda - I don't know, some place like that - and he accidentally stood on a landmine. She said the first he he thought was, I can't photograph this, it's under my foot. So he took out a pencil and paper and made notes about it and all. You know, to have in case you had to write an essay on it or something. And then he counted to three, and jumped off. And the mine never went off. He told my mom not to tell me about it, because it would make me land up in a shrink's office or something. [grinning] I can just see him do it. He's just so weird. I mean, you've just got to accept that about him.

Man in the Park:
[in broken English] Do not worry, sweetheart, your mother and father, they have a little fight. Is no problem. Is, uh... I tell you, is like puss in a pimple. It must come out. [gesturing at Hank & Erin] It come out. Is puss. It's good.
