Mr. Hawkins, Wedding Chapel Proprietor:
[Bowie has just asked Hawkins to arrange a passage to Mexico for Keechie and himself] Son, I'd sure like that money. I'm old, and money's a real comfort to an old man. Henry 'T-Dub' Mansfield:
They're thieves - just like us.

Arthur 'Bowie' Bowers:

Chicamaw 'One-Eye' Mobley:

Chicamaw 'One-Eye' Mobley:

Arthur 'Bowie' Bowers:

Mr. Lambert, Cabin Owner:
[looking at their car and smiling] Ah, the 'Just-Married' auto.

Arthur 'Bowie' Bowers:
Yeah.

Mr. Lambert, Cabin Owner:
Learn that, Alvin. Just-married people like to be alone.

Alvin Lambert:
I should think so.

Chicamaw 'One-Eye' Mobley:
I'll take steps a block long. Anyone gets in my way, I'll stomp 'em!

Arthur 'Bowie' Bowers:
[waking up mother on bus] M'am, you're baby's crying.

Mother on bus:
Well, I've been on the bus three days. When we get to the next stop, I'll fix her bottle. [ignoring the baby and going back to sleeo] Till then, I just don't care.

Chicamaw 'One-Eye' Mobley:
Everyone and his dog is comin'.

Opening Title Cards:

Arthur 'Bowie' Bowers:
They said you weren't here when the pipes bust. Where were you? [Keechie gives no response] I asked you where you were!

Catherine 'Keechie' Mobley:
Seeing a doctor.

Arthur 'Bowie' Bowers:

Catherine 'Keechie' Mobley:
The baby we're gonna have.

Arthur 'Bowie' Bowers:
[angry] Well, that's just fine. That's all I need!

Catherine 'Keechie' Mobley:
You don't see me knitting anything. Do ya?

[last lines]

Catherine 'Keechie' Mobley:
[reading Bowie's letter to herself] "Hello girl. I'm gonna miss you. I gotta do it this way... I'll send for both of you when I can... no matter how long it takes, I gotta see that kid... he's lucky; he'll have you to keep him squared around." [whispers] I love you, Bowie.

Arthur 'Bowie' Bowers:
I'll take it easy. I've got a lawyer in Tulsa to see!

Bowie:
She got a real house.

Chickamaw:
